I feel so stupid asking this, but I am 8 days overdue now, and dying for a nice bubble bath, but for some reason I am soo paranoid to have one, thinking my water might break and I never know it. I dont know what it feels like to have your water break, so I would never know the difference. Am I just being silly or what?

Spike - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) if yor waters break you will know it! esspecialy once you get out of the bath and your legs are still getting soaked. when my waters broke it was quite heavy and was down right impossible to not notice! have your bat relax, and hope that you give birth to a happy healthy baby very soon!

courtlyn - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) you would know...dont worry take a bath, once you get out, if your water is broken it will still be leaking...it leaks FOREVER!!!!!!!

moms the word - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Take a bubble bath! It may help to relax your muscles and allow dialation to occur. You'll be fine just don't go overboard with the bubble soap cause some of those products can cause UTI's if you sit in them for an extended period of time.

leahs - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My water broke without any contractions or anything else, but I knew it was my water breaking, it wasn't a gush for me but it was a steady dripping. Sorry for the TMI but you know what it's like when you have a heavy period and it feels like you've soaked through a pad but it's not really that much? That's exactly what it felt like for me. Enjoy your bubble bath, you deserve it.

Debra - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) you will feel it as it will be very warm right at your vagina. Go a head and have a bath. It may relax you enough to start labor! You will know when the water is too warm as well. The uterus does replenish itself after the water breaks, so it keeps leaking. After my midwife broke mine, it just kept coming, especially with each contraction that made me feel like pushing.

boymom - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have 5 boys...even after your water breaks, you will still have more water leak out after the initial break. The baby moves or you move and more comes out. So, even if your water breaks in the tub (although not likely unless your honey is in there helping to shake things up) you would still know it after you got out of the tub, dried off and then wondered where all that wet was coming from :) Take a bath and and enjoy staying in as long as you want without your baby waking up and wanting you :)

windchime - 84 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I am yet to deliver my first baby, but my immediate thought on this is that it's pretty rare for water to break with no other symptoms. You would more likely have contractions as well, and then when you get to the hospital they can check whether your water has broken. As for the bath, I'd be more concerned about over-heating your baby. If you do choose to enjoy a bath, make sure the water is just lukewarm.
