I heard that you can`t wear underwire for a month after giving birth, but I don`t know why? Does anyone know anything about this? Is it true and if so what is the reason?

I have worn one with both of my children. It could be if you are breast feeding them. It is easier with a maternity bra. I breast fed and found that it is easier with a non underwire bra.

Ive never heard of a medical reason why you cant wear an underwire bra, personaly i was wearing one days after givig birth! They tell you to wear maternity bras cause everyone just asumes you are going to be breast feeding and some women do just honestly find them more comfortable. It is up to you. If you want to wear a bra wth wire then do so, but only if it still fits you and is not uncomfy

if you plan on breastfeeding, its more comfortable to wear an bra with no underwire. They can put more pressure on your ducts and prevent milk from flowing well, increasing your chances for developing mastitis. To help reduce mastitis, also think about taking an acidophilous supplement starting the last few weeks of pregnancy as it will help prevent yeast infections. Also, stop by my VIP site for more on that and other things you should know and don't have to find out the hard way.

They reason they say this is because the underwire is restricting and can block a milk duct causing mastitis. I still wore my underwire's and didn't have a problem. You just need to be sure that they fit you REALLY WELL and don't get one that is too small in any way!
