I am leaving in a week to visit the inlaws and head to a wedding about 9 hours drive from home. I`m taking the two kids (2 1/2 and 8months) with me and really worry about being so far from home this late in pregnancy. My son was just diagnosed with an ear infection, car rides make me so sore and anxious... I know I will be in pain and uncomfortable the whole time. The Dr says its ok but I still can`t help but worry. I see the Dr again 3 days before I leave, I`m thinking about asking him to do an internal as I just feel the same way I did when I was dilating with my second. I know I`m only 30 weeks but I can`t help but worry about everything. Question I guess is what do you think I should do about the trip, will i be ok, am i over exagerating ?? any comments appreciated THANK YOU

dawnispregz - 39 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) the main thing is to make sure that your comfortable enough and ur kids are provided for with snacks and drinks, books etc.Mainly to keep them entertained so you dont get earache for hours!!! You need to get outta the car at regular intervals and stretch and walk as you dont want DVT,get some pillows, and if u can get a Tens machine, preggers peeps wear them at work and they stop the brain picking up on pain an registering it as pain. Good luck x x

MelissaJoanne - 40 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Plan to make frequent stops, wear the comfiest outfit you have, and bring some pillows/blankets to use on your seat wherever you need extra comfort. I just did a 13 hour car ride (only at 25 weeks then, but still preggo and uncomfortable!). It is normally a 10-11 hour drive, but we stopped a lot for bathroom + stretch breaks (stopped just about every hour!), and halfway through the drive we stopped to walk around for about half an hour. I don't think that you'll be putting yourself or baby in any risk taking the trip at 30 weeks. Just try to relax and take it easy on yourself. Good luck!
