Last night, my brother said `Oh dont have your baby on September the 11th, what a terrible date-` does anyone else think that is a bad thing to say or do people still have a phobia about that date? I remember it well, but there is nothing I can do about my due date. Baby might not even come on that date. What does anyone think about it?

I'm having my baby on a scheduled c section for sept 11th. That's the SAME response I got. But I just piped back with "oh well now instead of morning over a horrible horrible memory, we will be celibrating over a beautiful new birth." I don't think they said it to be mean. Sometimes people say things without realizing how it comes out.. I am horrible with that! I do it all the time! Its not a bad day. Its a horrible MEMORY, but all the sept 11th babies are replacing that bad day as a good wonderful blessed day! If that made sence?
Cheer up and smile! You will be having a baby very soon! And that day is going to be beautiful and amazing!

My husband and I got married on a June 6th-- and June 6th is notorious for being called "D-Day" because of the World War. And boy, did we get ragged about that one! All my husband's friends thought it was hysterically ironic. I'm a wedding harpist, and yes, when Saturday, Sept 11 rolled around a couple years back, there was NO work to be had because people are superstitious like that. Only Saturday of the whole season without a wedding. September 11th will certainly always be remembered as a sad day, but how nice it would be to have something happy happen on that date. Besides, the odds of your baby coming exactly on the due date are so rare, it's almost not worth worrying about! With this pregnancy, I learned I was pregnant literally within minutes of receiving a phone call that a four-year-old dear to my family had died in a car crash. The family, instead of thinking this was a bad omen, decided to be positive instead and think that the little boy is now a guardian angel for the new baby. So find a way to put a positive spin on things!

I say, why not give September 11th something GOOD to be remembered by??? My baby is due right after Halloween (which is my favorite holiday) and I made a comment about how it would be cool if the baby was born on Halloween and EVERYONE frowned on the idea... Sometimes, like when sharing names that you & your spouse like, you wish that you wouldn't have because other peoples opinions (which do not matter) tend to sway your decisions. Bottom line is, it's your baby & September 11th, 2008 isn't September 11th, 2001. Good luck sweetie... try not to let it bother you. Baby will come whenever he/she is suppose to. God has a plan. Am I rambling??? LOL!

with the terrible tragedy that happened on that date, which NO one will ever forget, i think its a blessing that you or anyone is due on that date because having a baby then, creates happy memories for that day..if someone doesnt have anything nice to say, the should keep it to themselves..

I've always been told that for every death there is a child born. I would be honored to have my child on Sept. 11th. Yes, it was a very tragic day, but life does go on. We must celebrate everyday. Good luck and God bless you!

Yeah even if you do deliver that date...who cares! Give something possitive to remeber on that date now... Plus not being insensitive...but it was a long time ago already...Move on and enjoy 2008! :)

My due date is Sept 11th! I get all sorts of comments and strange looks even tho I am in Canada.
I really don't see what the big deal is anyways, if by chance she is born that day wouldn't it be something to give life on a day so many lost theirs?

If anyone says it again, just reply with ' Ok, yeah cos ill jsut shove him/her back in and ask him/her to come back tomorrow shall i? Er no!' It really gets my goat when people say try not to give birth on such-and-such date because we are doing something. I cant hold my tongue and say i apologise that my pregnancy had caused you so much inconvenience, the next time i conceive ill get your permission so you can be free in the next 9 months.' They quickly get the picture!!! Lol
Like Sarahann said im not from america either but it affected so many people thorughout the world, i actually had friends working in the trade centre at the time. But if you are to give birth then, what a better way to prove that life does go on and we should be blessed with a new life. Good luck to you,and dont worry about the due date, your baby will arrive when ready, and theres nothin you can do about it. x x

I'm not from America, but when someone says '9/11' it's hard to think of anything else, however I think that people should keep negative opinions to themselves. Having said that, I also think that if you did have your baby on that date, it would be a lovely, positive thing to happen and may brighten that date for you and those close to you. Don't let other peoples opinions bring you down.

The chances of your baby being born exactly on its due date are slim. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
