last night i was woken up 6 times with very painful leg cramp is there anything i can do to stop it happening or something i can do to releave it

kbrooke1231 - 82 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I agree with mrs mh, don't point your toes when you stretch. Whenever I do I get an awful cramp in my leg. If I keep my feet flexed it's fine. I'm not sure why but I read about it in my pregnancy book.

agonzales - 82 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Try taking in more potassium and calcium. I use to get them with my last pregnancy and starting eating bananas more. It helps!

christyp - 82 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Hi, I have the same problem and talked to my DR about it a few days ago...He said it's likely a magnesium deficiancy and told me to take supplaments of magnesium 250 MG per day and that should help. I haven't bought them yet but hopefully it will work! :-) Good Luck!!

aulrobbri - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) bananas and magnesium

Mrs.M.H. - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The below might help out great and I would also recommend you try to cut back on your salt in take it helped me and I would watch myself on how I stretch my legs. I am this time and I've only suffered one cramp so far. I noticed that if I pointed my toes when I stretched it would be really likely to case a cramp or spasum. Instead I pull my toes up and stretch at my heel it isn't and relaxing up it does help to avoid the pain. Good luck!

amber325 - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My dr said drink more milk and eat bananna's for potacium

eastern-Canadian-Lady - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was there with leg cramps not so long ago, and after talking to the doc and massage therapist it made sense to follow some advice. try potassium, calcium and iron. (bananas/ some flavoured water, yogurt/cheese, sunflower seeds/cashew/ cream of wheat. Somebody gave me advice which sounded horribly painful, but it worked. stand up, and point your toes up to the ceiling. I could hardly stand bc of the pain, but I tried it anyway, and it worked like MAGIC!!! hope this helps

moms the word - 83 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It could be caused by dehydration or lack of potassium. Try drinking more water and eating a banana before bedtime. It sounds silly, but it really helps me. Good luck and I hope you feel some releif soon.
