my daughter is 9 weeks today and she still would rather look out the window or at the wall rather than at us or her toys. is this normal? she does have her moments atleast 1x per day that she stares at me and smiles at my noises. but she still doesnt turn her head a lot or show excitement when she hears our voices. is this normal? one more thing, she does crack up at her mobiles but never reaches for anything. if i put something in her hand she drops it and doesnt seem interested. if anyone that has had a baby please comment on your experience. thank you!!

spencerbaby1 - 78 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) she is likely just looking around at all the things she can now see and focus on. if you are worried about her haering, clap your hands at a random time and see if she responds by looking in the direction of the sound- either with her eyes or moving her head. i wouldnt be too worried yet.. she may not be interested in toys in her hands yet, they may feel funny. keep trying and befor eyou know it she will be shaking toys and reaching

Mrs.M.H. - 79 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Talk to your doc baby might not be hearing very well if you can get her attention, have you tried startling her? Does she startle? Other wise she is probably just really into other things and figures she knows you well enough:) Try not to worry, just ask your doc if there is anything you can be looking for that is considered strange. She is only 9 wks she is now able to see things btter than before and before she might not have been able to focus well or maybe she is still having trouble now. You can really know for sure get thing checked and you will feel better knowing that you know why. Good Luck.

wilsonwilson - 79 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Hi I am doing a NVQ in child development and things sound just right to me. You have nothing to worry about at all. So many people on here I feel exagerate a little about what there baby can do but your baby is 9 weeks old enjoy every moment. She should not be moving her head that much anyway and maybe there are things she can hear that you can't as there hearing is very sensative. If you have any concerns at all it is always good to talk it over with your health visitor or Doctor. I hope I have helped you x
