my tail bone hurt a lot with different movements i did such as sitting down, getting up from sitting down..and many other random movements. this was during the middle of my pregnancy. it lasted for a few weeks but eventually it went away. my doctor told me it was just pressure pains from the baby (which i never thought made sense!) but everybodys body is different :P

Back pain is something that comes to us all in pregnancy and to be honest I know that there is very little that a Doctor can do - i have a pre existing back condition, since i was 19.I landed on my coccyx and was paralysed for a short time. The best thing for back pain is to have a heat pad on the area, i ahve an electrical one as the microwaved onnes only lasts about 10 mins then you need to reheat. The electrical one i use is a flat pad that i can slip under my sheet on my bed so its not too hot on my skin and now im pregnant i choose the lowest setting and it lets me drift off to sleep. Its great and not expensiv for the release that it gives you. You will probably experience back ache everywhere very soon if its your coccyx that is hurting now, the worst thing to do is to hunch over- even though the pain is less its bad in the long run as your body is not made to hunch and you get back pain by hunching. Even now after years of private therapy on my back i still have to tell myself to stand/sit straight as its so easy to slouch and get temporary relief. But believe me the aftermath a day later is not worth it. If you do get full on back ache you can do stretches and it can release the pressure. They are simple and easy, wont hurt baby at all. If you wanna know what they are and how to do tem jsut message me and ill message ya back. A warm bath and gentle massage does help right before bed, if you get trouble sleeping you can put a pillow(s) under your legs to raise them slightly so the arch in your back is as prominent, works if you use maternity pillow on sleep on your side also. Hope you find this helpful, and i wish you all the best. Back ache is the worst thing in the world as you feel so debilitated, and can ache through the whole of your back because of one area. Like i said if you want the stretches just message my page and ill reply x x

I have the exact same thing. I just woke up with it yesterday. the pain has moved to a different area today. It is right on my left buttock, and down my leg! its killing me. I had this with my first pregnancy but not until the very end. I'm not sure that i can cope with this throughout the rest of the pregnancy. If i sit, i can just about get up again! - there isn't anything doctor can do. I may go and have my back worked on though. It might ease the pain a little.
