I need your master advice. Added: 1285 days ago. Added by: mrs mommy Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
I`m only 35 weeks. Last night I was having contractions, or to what I thought were contractions, for 2 hours, and they stopped after I hydrated myself and rest. (I was super active yesterday and forgot to drink water) today, I have pains in my lower abdominem (argh can`t spell sorry) and I can`t tell if its the baby just moving and hitting nerves or if I should be worried. I asked my friend she said her dr said it was just the groin stretching... are these signs of labor? I know I just had a baby last year, but I honest to goodness don`t remember which contractions and pains are real or false.. And I don`t want to rush to the hospital just to be sent home feeling stupid..like last year...any advice, or knowledge, or warning signs are appreciated. Thank you

Sounds like you had Braxton Hicks caused by lack of dehydration/rest. I do that to myself alot. Stay hydrated. Its very dangerous. I wouldnt worry about it being labor

I am in the hospital. I fell into labor today and they're trying their best to stop it. I am on magnesium, to stop the labor/contractions, potassium bc it was low, penecillion incase of infection, and 2 other things. Fun. I can't blog bc I have internet through my phone so it doesn't work.. Ladies when u aren't sure go to the hospital, I should've gone yesterday...

Wait until you have contractions that come consistently. If you have two in a row, drink water, if you are sitting, walk around, if you are walking, lay down, if you get a few more with in a reasonable time- 12 min or less, you could be in labor. Remember that second births are generally alot quicker, so dont wait tooo long... better to be safe than sorry

you were having BH contractions. They occur when you are dehydrated, and will cause you to go into labor. Its a sign your baby is thirsty and in distress. They occur as the uterine muscle becomes dehydrated and gets irritated, contracting in response. YOU NEED TO STAY HYDRATED. Carry a water bottle with you at all times. 35 weeks is too early to have a baby at, as you know. See my VIP site for what real contractions feel like as well.

it sounds like Braxton Hicks to me, Mine can get quite regular and feel like period pains in my lower tummy. I read somewhere too that they are usually more frequent if you are dehydrated. Apparently, it's true contractions if they don't stop, are regular and increase in pain anything else is considered false labour, even though it can be quite painful.
My midwife was telling me as you get closer to the end your uterus can get quite irritable so smaller things will set of BH's..

I think you are probably just crampy from doing too much yesterday and from the contractions. But if it gets worse, get it checked out.
