I am 24 1/2 weeks prego and have been getting BH contractions for the last 2 weeks...about 2 a day. Today though, I have been getting 1 every half hour. They are not painful, just get uncomfortable. Is this normal for 24 weeks????

I had a lot of them as well, which started in the summer last year when it got hotter. They do occur to help practice the uterus for labor, but also occur when you are dehydrated. The uterus gets thirsty and irritated and contracts in response. Since you are getting them regularily, try drinking a lot of water and laying down. If they don't go away, you should contact your care practitioner. Otherwise, you need to drink 2-3 L of water per day or 1/2-3/4 Gallon. I hope this helps!

I started getting them around 22 weeks also. I get them all the time. Especially if I'm out walking. My dr said it was normal.

Are you dehydrated? Try drinking some water and lay on your left side to rest for a while, you might find that they pass. I have been having them for about 10 weeks now, and had a day where I had five. I was a bit worried and that's the advice I got on this site from all the lovely ladies! I agree though, if you're really worried or if they start to hurt then I would call the hospital, just to be sure. But try drinking some more; they might stop. Have a good day

I have been having them since very early on. My tummy goes tight. It is normal but if YOU feel the need to, then call the hospital and have them monitor you. Some people do go into early labour for no apparent reason. You could always ring the hospital and tell them, and they might tell you what to look out for or suggest you come in.

I remember mine starting somewhere around that point, but I dont remember them being that noticeably frequent. Mention it to your doctor, but you are probably fine, every body is differnt. Good luck!
