False labor?

Okay this is my second baby and I have been having contractions for over a week and a half. The doctor checked a week and half ago and I was 4 cm and 100% plus she said the babies head was right there. I am so frustrated with these contractions. They are definitley more than braxton-hicks and have gotten as close together as 3 minutes apart before stopping all together. Has anyone experienced this before? Any advice? I am feeling really tired and frustrated. Plus the doctor told me if I am more than 5 cm on Tuesday she wants to induce because I was positive for strep B and is afriad I won`t have time for the meds. I really would like to avoid being induced if possible.

femi - 1278 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i wonder if squatting and walking would help the baby's head put pressure on your cervix so that you could dilate more, especially if you're already 100% effaced.

Lorien - 1279 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was dilated to 4 for about 2 weeks but I was so worried about being induced (I had been twice before because I went it at 3 cm and Dr. didn't want to send me home) With my last (the 4 cm one) I just waited it out and walked a lot. I didn't go to the hospital until the contractions were painful not just uncomfortable by the time I got there I was 6cm and 6 hours later he was born with no induction. (I also had group b strep so they just started an I V right when I got there and had me stay one extra day.) Best of luck!

mrs mommy - 1279 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) How far along are u? I went through this only I was dialated to a 1cm and they gave me magnesium to stop labor.. But u don't want him out too early.. Just be patient and rest

danahlovesdoug - 1279 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Wow, I really wish I had a for sure answer for you, It sounds like you are in labor but for some reason your body isn't ready?! I know its kinda strange but the next time your contractions start happening close and frequent try inducing naturally, I heard that stimulating your nipples works the best. Also try squatting to open up your cervix more while having contractions.... Good luck to you.
