My son had this on both sides. He is 5 weeks old now and they have been gone for almost 2 weeks now. And like the others said it is just excess hormones from us.

My nephew had this. They told my sister it was excess hormones from her. It went away a few days later and he is just fine.

my baby boy had this too. i freaked out and took him to the doctor. she wasnt at all concerned, and as femi has said, its caused by the mothers hormones. Jacobs went away in just a few days. dont worry, he will be fine

i've heard of newborns having swollen breasts/nipples because of the mother's hormones, but i'm not sure if that only applies to baby girl newborns. my daughter's are slightly swollen (and by slightly i mean you'd have to touch to feel that they are a little raised) and i was told it'll go away; merely hormones from inside the womb and birth.
