so i posted one of these earlier that i am due friday and went to doctor today for cramping he told me i was in early labor and to go home walk around and see how i feel and if the pain gets so bad to go into the hospital. i had contractions pain started to go away, i took a little nap and now cramps are starting to come back? i am so confussed nurse at hospital said to come in if i want and be monitored but that i could get sent home. im due friday and the cramps hurt but i can handle them till they get bad! what should i do? and when should i go in? if at all? some people say when my water breaks some say when contractions are regular and others say when the pain become unbarable? everyone tells me something different? any thoughts would help.

toonerboo - 1259 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My water never broke on its own( 4 pregnancies!) Wait until you cant hardly talk through a few contractions then go. Good luck!!!

tto - 1260 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Contractions don't really do anything until they start to hurt. Then they help dilate. That's what the drs. monitor you for- to see if you are continuing to dilate. If not, they send you home. Wait until it's hard to function through one. Not everyone's water will break, so don't wait for that. Good luck!

reneaj - 1261 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i think you should wait untill the contractions are really strrong and regular. if you go to early you will either get sent home or they will induce you, and you do not want that pitocin if you dont have to get it. it makes things soooooo much more painful!

Lorien - 1261 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Do not wait until your water breaks! I agree with fallowing your instincts. Labor contractions are pretty distinct. You don't want to go in to early and just hang out there or get induced because you aren't progressing. If your water happens to break great but don't wait for it. Mine has never broke naturally even when I was between 9 and 10 cm dilated.

coltonsmom - 1261 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Listen to your own instincts, nobody else. If the hospital told you that you can go in, then listen to the little voice in your head that says, "Maybe I should head into the hospital" because you don't want to be in the situation where you're not sure and end up having the baby at home on on the side of the road somewhere. Better to be safe than sorry.

CassandraLee - 1261 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Wait until they get much worse and closer together. You dont want to get sent home, and you dont want to have to sit in the hospital for many hours that you could have spent at home

aulrobbri - 1261 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Play it by ear and see how you feel. When you get to the point you would rather be at the hospital... just go. Walking may help things progress if you want to speed it up.

Mrs.M.H. - 1261 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Everyone has an idea as to what they were told and what they did and in the end you have to decide what you feel best about and what you are willing to put up with before you go in. They are all good ideas and I just went when I knew it was going to just happen I didn't really feel a lot of pain but discomfort for sure and it was really regular and then I wasn't feeling right and that was that, I went in. So I can say only one thing, do what you feel is right for you and just take what you need from the advice as being help info for you to make a good guess with. And as cheesy as it is, hey, maybe you'll just know when:)
