Hi all.. My little boy is approx 2 weeks old and is taking 3-5oz of formula milk about every 4 hours. Is this normal or is it too much?

lilysmumma - 69 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Baby Lily was the same as RobinG 's little one she was 8"6oz at birth and quite a hungary lil thing. at 4 weeks she is eating around 3.5 to 5 oz around 3-5 hours

RobinG - 70 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My little ones would eat 3-5 oz every 2.5 - 3 hours :) Sounds perfect :) If he spits up alot it could be milk allergy sensitivety or reflux or over burping or a bottle that gives them alot of air. (())

krissynben - 70 days ago Ok cool thanks, yeh I wouldn't say he is spitting it up massively but will keep an eye on it.. if he does spit up alot what should I do?

kimmiepooh - 70 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Sounds fine to me :-) But as jessicadarling mentioned, keep an eye out for spitting up. If he's not doing that too much he is fine.

2xmom - 70 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Sounds fine to me....you're lucky he'll go every four hours. My little boy had to eat every two. Sounds like your little one is further apart on the feedings, but stocking up when he eats. I wouldn't worry. I think every child is different, just let them lead you. The baby will let you know how much they do or don't want and how often, they will naturally set an eating pace. Most of what you read or hear from a doctor is an "average" schedule of eating.

jessicadarling - 70 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) If that is what he wants then it isn't too much. While it may be more than some babies, if your son is not spitting up due to over feeding then he is most likely fine. You may just have a big boy on your hands
