momtotheo - 1239 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I love cherryroses's answer. Exactly what I would have said. I wore my first in a sling around the house -worked like a charm to keep him calm.

cherryrose - 1240 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) you cant spoil a newborn baby.. holding your baby and responding to his/or her cries will teach your baby that you are there for them and they will learn to trust you. it will help you and your baby become more bonded.. you can also wear your baby in a sling if your arms get tired..I have not been able to let my lil one cry it out..

Laura14 - 1240 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) in my opinion babies can not be spoilt in older children yes for sure. but i think when infant cry there is always a reason, need daiper changed, fed, burped, upset tummy, teething, we can talk shout get mad whatever, babies cry t express how they feel and what they need tehy are communicating. it shouldnt be ignored IMO baby has spent 9 months cuddled up in your tummy, maybe they just want a cuddle every now and then to remind them, nurturing them when they need it builds trust:))

baby-momma09 - 1240 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) about 2yrs ago when i was in high school i did 2yrs (junior/senior year) of early childhood development. we taught 3/4 yr old children as well as the infants in the nursery who belonged to the students. and we were taught that if the baby is crying non stop then you can pick him or her up and check for dirty diaper, hungry, sleepy, burp, maybe a ear infection. dont forget some babies have acid reflux. we had one baby that would pull his own hair out and scream at the top of his lungs. check first to make sure baby is ok and doesn't need anything. if they are still crying then hold them close to your heart so they can hear your heartbeat (a sound they're familiar with.) some babies take longer than others to fall asleep. it has nothing to do with spoiling them. sometimes the baby might need to sit up and doesn't want to be laying down. its your baby and whatever method YOU choose is up to you. if you want to hold them then go for. sooner or later you wont be able to carry them the same way!!

dc_finest82 - 1240 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i was told with my daughter that the child can not get spoil until they actually begin to recognize what you are doing. I was told somewhere around 3-4 months is when they begin to to acknowledge that you are holding on them. but my friend just had a son and she says that her son knows alreadya nd he is only 2 months.

Avery123 - 1240 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Go ahead and cuddle them, they're only babies for a short time so enjoy them while you can! It's easier on you and on the baby.

shelley75 - 1240 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) picking up a crying baby gives them security...you cannot spoil babies!!

dawnispregz - 1240 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) If its a new born then its not for a spoilt reason, the baby doesnt have the ability to do one cry different to another cry. If your child is newborn and cries then pick him/her up, its all good! When the baby grows up you'll notice a difference in cries from ' i need something, nappy, food etc' to ' i want/tantrum cry.'

patience21 - 1241 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Notice its always the mother in law that gives the advice on not to pick up the crying baby??? Well at least in my case. had to share that info! LOL

alreadygot1 - 1241 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) your baby NEEDS to have you pick her up. She is building reassurance that way. She needs to know that you are there. you cannot spoil them until they are toddlers....good luck!

mommad - 1241 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You can't spoil a baby! Hold them, love them, and comfort them all the time!!!!! The only time I let mine cry is when I'm in the car driving and can't get to her!

Lorien - 1241 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I agree with the others. You can't spoil a baby. I have picked up all 3 of mine when crying and it has never caused any problems. If anything I think it teaches them that you are the one they can count on.

RobinG - 1241 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You cant spoil an infant newborn. You can spoil an older child but not an infant you should never let them cry. If you cant hold them still important to soothe or wear a sling until you can pick them up. I always held my babies when they cried, if they werent crying that is when I placed them down and I rarely ever held them while they were sleeping so they got use to sleeping not in my arms. Soon as they fell asleep I put them down. Babies cry for many reasons ~ letting them cry is not the right thing to do at all as an infant unless you HAVE to to finish up something you are doing, but not to prevent spoiling.. (())

moms the word - 1241 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I personally don't think you can hold a newborn too much. I always try to soothe them without picking them up first but if that doesn't work then I will hold them. I have personally never been able to let a baby just cry.
