this morning when I went to the bathroom I was spotting bright red. it only lasted about 3 wipes and was gone. i also feel very crampy often in the morning. At 8 weeks I went to emerg. with spotting and cramping. a u/s revealed everything was fine. What could be causing this??? i haven`t been having any sex.

What makes most sense to me as far as spotting early in pregnancy is that for years our bodies are on a monthly cycle. All of a sudden our bodies are expected to just stop? I think it takes a little bit more time for some than others to adjust. But I recommend contacting your doctor as soon as possible to make sure there is no cause for concern. Good luck and lots of mommy hugs to you!! :-D

jaydsmom - 1238 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had the same thing happen to me at 12.5 weeks. It was bright red also, and I was crampy. I went to the er and everything was fine. The bleeding lasted for over 2 weeks. I was totally freaked, by my dr told me that he had been in obstetrics for 30 years and sometimes women bleed for simple things like the edges of the placenta bleeding. Take it easy and good luck. Oh BTW I am 35 weeks now and my boy is fine.

2xmom - 1238 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) There's many reasons for spotting. I would notify your doc for sure. For me, with baby #1, I had heavy bleeding (filling 4 pads an hour) I was 10 weeks. I went in...u/s showed a healthy heartbeat, they decided after an evaluation that I needed a Rhogam shot. Usually it isn't needed that early. I have an Rh neg. blood type, and my hubby has an Rh pos. blood type. So they were thinking that the baby may have a pos. blood type also, and my body was recognizing the difference, and actually trying to fight it off, because it was foreign to my body....which was causing the bleeding. The shot took care of my problem. I'm not saying that this is what is happening with you, just know that spotting doesn't mean the "worst". Talk to your doc, they'll help figure it out with you. Good luck.
