First menstrual period post delivery Added: 1234 days ago. Added by: kevinsmilf08 Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
What was your first period like following delivery? I am 4 months post partum and just got AF. It is extremely heavy, with no cramps at all. Before pregnancy my period was only mildly heavy for the first day or so but riddled with painful cramps. I`ve had my period for 3 days now with NO cramping whatsoever and I`m soaking through Super absorbancy pads like it`s going out of style. I`d say 1 pad every 2 hours or so. It`s getting a little better, but everytime I urinate there is a potty full of blood! I`m a little distressed at this point - is this normal??

Hi I had my first period only 3 weeks after my c-section it was also heavy with no pain but lasted 7 days where as my periods before baby were light and only 4 days, I saw my doc yesterday at my 6 week check-up and he said that it is perfectlly normal, he also told me that after this period I might not get another one in a few months or it might start again like normal as I am breastfeeding. It's different for everyone if your bleeding is really heavy and doesn't stop or become lighter call your doc just to make sure.

My first period was also slightly heavier.. Its normaly because your uterus is cleaning its slef out. However im not sure if that many lage pads is ok, i would maybe just give the doctor a call in the morning and make sure its ok. You can also call the maternity ward at the hospital and ask them.. they are very good with questions like this.. Sometimes a women may need help cleaning her linning in the uterus wall.

I have always had heavy periods. I really didn't notice a difference in my first few periods after having my daughter. They seemed to just pick up where they left off. I bled for two weeks after the delivery (I had a cesarean) and then six weeks later I got my first period. If you start to feel weak or have no let up in the flow, I would call my doctor to see what he/she says. It couldn't hurt and better safe than sorry right? I hope it gets better.
