benadryl okay??

well i got a really really bad cold and so i called the hospital to see what i could take seeing how i am 12 weeks pregnant and the nurse said benadryl and cough drops well i took cough drops in moderation and i took 1 benadryl but it didn`t seem to do anything when i called back to see if there was something else i could take i got a diff nurse and she said benadryl is terrible for the baby and to take sudafed. now i am realy worried cause i have had a miscarriage before but we had an ultrasound for this one already and the heartbeat was heard at 9 weeks i just hope i didn`t do anything bad . will this be okay. ?

MelissaLMoore - 1233 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My doctor said I could take Benadryl and/or Sudafed. I too have a horrible cold, but I am afraid to take anything. I am using Breathe Right nasal strips which are WONDERFUL! And Vicks Vapor Rub.

vickiessecret - 1233 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was also taking benadryl towards the end of my pregnancy, because I had the PUPP rash and it helped me to sleep through the night. You can also take Sudafed, the regular one. :)

kyrsten - 1233 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my doctor told me when i was pregnant to take benadryl and extra strength tylenol to sleep he told me that it was fine have you tried calling and asking your doctor because i thought that you could not take any type of sudaffed that is what i was under the impression of so i dont know about what that nurse says but i do know that benadryl is ok to take as prescribed. hope this helps and call and ask your doctor.

shelley75 - 1233 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I take benadryl sometimes when I can't sleep because my allergies are terrible. My doc said benadryl was fine to take and if you google it it is on the safe list of medications. Don't worry :)
