Has anyone successfully kept their belly button ring in during their pregnancy? Im 15 weeks and it has not been a problem yet but... I really want to keep my belly button hole open so I can wear it again after I have the baby!!! I`ve had it pierced for about 2 years and its actually my lower navel (not the typically upper navel piercing)...Any tips or ideas...stories even?

marchmomma84 - 1226 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I still have mine in (15 weeks)...we'll see how it goes. I think I'll get one of those rubbery ones the other girls were talking about just in case. But...one of my friends saw it poking through my shirt and thought I had an "outy" belly button (cuz you know some women get that) it was funny...but now I try to hide it cuz I don't want people to think my "outy" belly button is poking through my shirt!! haha!!!

lillyseed - 1227 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i could not keep mine in during my 1st pregnancy (didn't have it in with my 2nd). it hurt too bad. my cousin kept hers in just fine. i found online some belly button rings that are made just for pregnant bellies, they move & flex with your belly.

happy1sttimemom - 1227 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) HA HA HA... It is a hit or miss. I have heard of people keeping theres in but for me I had to take it out. When I started getting really big the holes moved and it looked really funny. Like the botton hole that was in my belly button where the jewel sat is where the top hole used to be. So it looked like I just took a randon piece of skin and pierced it. So depending on where the holes move and how it looks I would keep it in.

Lorien - 1227 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I know people who have left theirs in although I think they make you remove any jewelry when you are admitted. My Dr. told me I should take mine out with my first so I did. I did get a horrible stretch mark from the tiny dot of scar tissue though and my belly button has never been as cute as it was because of it :-(.

mrsbekki - 1227 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had both the top and the bottom of my belly button pierced...I took mine out. Sadly enough I am 36 weeks and the ONLY stretch marks I have are from the scar tissue on the piercing holes. YUCK. I wish I would have got a pregnancy clear extender (dr will know) so I could hide the stretch mark.

baby-momma09 - 1227 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) im 20wks and haven't had to take mine out. occasionally it'll feel sore but it goes away. i did buy a plastic one just in case i get super huge (thank god i haven't had to use it...yet) mine hasn't caused a problem but everyone is different. if you get an outie im sure you might have to take it out. its just how your body reacts to the belly ring. if it doesn't bother you keep it in.

apilalas - 1227 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i have mine done and kept it in throughout my whole pregnancy. no stretch marks no nothing. the piercing looks great. the only time i took it out was to push my baby out just in case i had to have an emergency c-section. then put i right back in an hr after that. but mind you i hardly gained any weight. all people are diff!

amy2088 - 1227 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have mine pierced too. And i havent worn anything in it in about 2 years and the whole is still open. I randomly checked a few weeks ago! But i do have streck marks around the wholes :S..But i dont think it completely closes!! at least mine never did

enichan - 1227 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i got an extra long piercing but i took it out coz i got a stretch mark on and the pierced hole :/

patience21 - 1228 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) There are barbells you can buy that are made long so you can wear them throughout your pregnancy. i had mine done and never got one of those special rings, but I let mine close in my 9th month because i was so big i figured i would never be able to show it off again anyways. But as far as leaving it in I could have I just didnt. I actually got a stretch mark right through the piercing hole that has never completely closed, i had mine done for 4 years before lettin it close. Those special barbells (spelling?) are sold on ebay, if you cant find them. or www.bellybuttonringsandthings.com Good Luck!!

lilysmumma - 1228 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) had the lower pierced too and kept it in for whole pregnancy only had to take it and my tongue ring out when i had an emergency c section, tho i could have kept it in had i given birth "normally"

earthmomma - 1228 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i took mine out...but there are ones you can wear during pregnancy. i think they are made of flexible plastic or something like that so that your skin can stretch around it but it will still keep the hole.

amanda72385 - 1228 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) the only time you might need to take it out is when it becomes infected, or you have a c-section. Dont forget to shop arround for pregnancy belly rings (yes they do make them) Congrats on your pregnancy.

canuck - 1228 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I took my 2 lower and 1 upper (typical one) out at around 24 weeks..and was able to get them back in a few days after my daughter was born...
