we bought a crib , with our second we didnt use it right away and I found it was easier to get the baby used to sleeping in it right away, then its not a big change for the baby. you can always use one of those roll things in it to make the space seem smaller for baby. \for our 3rd baby we got a crib that converts to toddler bed then you can use it for a double bed, that way \i know it will get its money worth. remember that when babys are that small it is ok for them to sleep in their car seats at first as well.(mr dr. told me this as my baby wasnt sleeping well at night, she said itll help with gas to be sitting up more opposed to laying flat on her back) to me a bassinet is just another way to spend more money that you dont really need to. --unless u dont have room for a crib.

I will have a crib(one of those lifetime beds that is a crib then a toddler bed and eventually a twin youth bed) in his room at home and a travel bassinet for when we go places while he is small.

I'll eventually be buying a crib. Right now I have a bassinet and a cradle. I'm planning to buy a convertible crib (converts to toddler bed + twin size bed) to get a lot of use out of it. I'll move her to the crib when she outgrows the bassinet + cradle, 3-6 months depending on her size.

we are using a moses basket/ bassinet for usa! up till about 6 months it can be used for but all depends on the size of the baby, some people only get 2-3 months use out of it, but its better than the cot straight away as the baby feels more surrounded and swaddled and can easily fit down the side of your bed for easy access. Then from 6 months the baby can go in the cot/cotbed.

I have a bassinet handed down from my sis & have her crib set, but it seems the smart thing to do is get the play & pack b/c the majority already have the bassinet on top & you can use that much longer...I'm sure we wont use her crib for the 1st 3 months, I hear a lot of moms wait till around the time their wanting to start using a crib to buy one

I had both for my son.. but honestly they out grow bassinets very fast.. maybe two months max!! At 3 weeks we put him in a crib. We will do the same again with this little girl (buy a crib) Ikea has very inexpensive cribs!!

Right now we are going to use the bassinet till she outgrows it. Then she will use her pack-n-play.
