what would you do Added: 1217 days ago. Added by: mamadrake Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
I`m 4 days overdue and no thining no dialating and the baby has no dropped. So my midwife says they will have to do a csection bc he`s to big to deliver vaginally. So she told me today to come back on monday and we will see how big he really is and then next week we will have the csection. Ok my question is can I `demand` to do the csection asap bc the longer we wait the bigger he gets and that`s stupid. Right?

In Canada I don't think they give you the choice ... but I think I would ask for an ultrasound to confirm the size of the baby and then discuss options with your midwife. They thought my daughter was gonna be huge so I had a whack of ultrasounds cuz my doctor just didn't believe it. She kept scaring me with threats of a possible c-section that never happened, so I would definitely try to confirm the size before committing to surgery.

A week could make a big difference. I would ask to be induced asap. This is my third pregnancy, I have had vaginal and C-section. I would not wait another week. There is no reason to wait at this point and the farther you go, the harder it is going to be.

wow, because my son was gonna be in the 8's, and he didnt seem to budge by my due date, my doc suggested me being induced or wait longer then i would have to do stress tests etc, so i opted to be induced..he was my biggest child, and i didnt see any reason to wait longer and go to more appointments.you should be able to have an opinion on going now or waiting..after all youre overdue good luck

She means that he might be to big for your lower pelvic bone area. I had the same with my son - if they wait another week it won't make a huge difference - thy will not cut you open with a huge scar - if you were going to still deliver vaginally a week can be a huge difference in vaginal birth - you should be fine but knowing how uncomfortable it is on your last i would also try and get it over and done with as soon as possible. Good luck with the new arrival
