i got all swollen yesterday!! Added: 1213 days ago. Added by: babygnumber1 Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
Well yesterday DH and I went to the home depot, after a while I started feeling WEIRD, sort of dizzy and confused, so I begged DH to go back home (he was like a kid in a toy store looking at everything) so we went back home but I kept feeling the same, later I went to get a haircut, so I sit down and look at myself in the mirror and OMG my face was HUGE! I was all swollen, my lips where really big and my nose was double its normal size... I told DH that I was swollen and he kept saying no... So at night my heart started going crazy, really fast, I kept feeling weird and I noticed that my hands and feet were also swollen... This morning I asked DH how I looked, and he said I looked normal, not like yesterday, he admitted I WAS swollen
I already called my OB and i`m waiting for them to call me back but I also wanted to see what you ladies think

I know it's not allergical reaction because the swelling came back last night... I got the call from my doctor and she said to stay off my feet until tomorrow when she sees me

definitely tell husband that he cant be making things sound good to make you feel good. he could have postponed a potentially big problem. not saying there is anything wrong yet hun, but the swelling seems pretty sudden and i was assume allergic reaction or pre-eclampsia.

This is a case of notifying your doctor. It could be pre-eclampsia, or it could be an allergic reaction to something you ate or encountered. Either condition can be very dangerous to both you or the baby. If you are at risk for pre-eclampsia, your doctor will have a very specific plan for managing your symptoms. If you were experiencing a severe allergic reaction it is important for you to be given access to an emergency inhaler or directed on what to do if the situation recurs; occasionally allergic reactions can result in a life-threatening condition called anaphylactic shock, which can close your airway and prevent respiration. I spent many years working on an ambulance as an Emergency Medical Technician; if this situation happens again, get emergency care immediately. No hospital or doctor will laugh at you for doing so, as these symptoms can truly be life-threatening if ignored. As it is, I would make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible to describe your symptoms in detail, have your blood pressure checked, and get any necessary follow-up testing or medications. It is critical to mention your dizziness and disorientation, as it may be an indicator that next time, should this happen, you may not be in any condition to call for help yourself. Be sure to discuss this with your husband or someone at work who should be alerted to get help if you start acting strangely. You were lucky this time but your luck may not continue.

I agree with kater! You need to ask about pre-eclamsia! I had the same thing with my number 3. My skin was SOOOOO stretched over every part of me. It was quite scary.Thankfully when it hit I was already in hospital. There can be varying degrees. Sounds like this time was mild for you BUT I would definitely get it checked out as you need monitoring if that is the case. It can be also a case of your body deciding to hold EVERY bit of fluid! Ask your husband to be honest next time as these things are needed to be known about. He was probably trying not to upset you, which is sweet and a hard call for the hubby knowing that the wrong thing said at the wrong time could be hurtful. He does need to speak up next time though. Good luck! :-)
