is it normal to bleed for more then 6 weeks?

Hi ladies
i did speak to the GP on my 6 weeks check she has sent off a sample to check for any infection, and she was telling me i could be pregnant again which made me laugh cuz i told her that i havent had sex since the birth of the baby and cuz im bleeding i dont want to have sex but she kept on and on, im waiting for the result now and im scared i dont have any pain and no sign of infection

I bled for 11 weeks off and on after my daughter was born. My doctor didn't seem to care although i was totally worried. She said it was because she put me on a new birth control. Definitely talk to your doctor though because if it has been a constant bleeding it could be something else

You should have a 6-week postpartun appt any minute now, right? So if you are still bleeding they can examine you and figure out whether this is nature's course for you or there is something that needs to be taken care of.

im not sure if its "normal" but i bled for almost 2 and a half mo...it really sucked
