My son is 7 weeks old, I had him via c section, a week later, I was hospitalized for a uterus infection. I am exclusively breastfeeding.. Every 2-3 hours to be exact. I haven`t had my period yet, and ever so often I spot. Only when I wipe. Now I was told it can be because my uterus is contracting... but is something wrong, or am I PREGNANT??? I will DIE if I get preggo again!! Tell me all you know PLEASE!

I love breastfeeding, but I also was not confindent enough to trust it completely for birth control. I took what is called the mini-pill. It was worth the piece of mind. I also didn't get my period for about nine months when I was nursing. But what always made me nervous about counting in bf for bc is that you don't know when it is coming back and that is big for me.

Be glad that your only spotting, dont worry its normal, now I have had my AF twice in the last 9 weeks, and I also breastfeed and had a c-section. It is your uterus contaracting even now 9 weeks later I often get this strong pain in my stomach but I can feel that it's my uterus almost feels like Braxton Hicks with a bit of pain. I don't think you need to be worried, if you think you might be pregnant again take a pregnancy test, you are extremelly fertile now don't have unprotected sex !!

I was told I wouldn't get my period when I was breastfeeding. Well that person who didn't get it was lucky. I bled on and off for 11 weeks after I gave birth. Then as soon as that ended I started getting a regular period. As soon as I stopped breastfeeding this month I was 3 weeks late and so scared I was pregnant again but the period came and I am all regular again. If you are worried there is nothing wrong with getting checked out. Better to be safe than sorry. You may just be having a light period because you are breast feeding but it is better to call your doctor to find out.
