IM GOING TO A HOSPITAL TO DELIVER MY BABY NATURALY.IS IT STILL WORTH IT TO GO TO ANTENATAL CLASSES?THEY ARE KINDA EXPENSIVE HERE AND MY MEDICAL AID DOESNT PAY ALL OF IT BACK.

ibaheir2dathrone - 1209 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) 10 years ago I took a class. It was free, try to find a clinic type hospital. They did offer them for free.

MomOfAlmost3AtHome - 1210 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) If it is your first, I would advise you to try and take one. It just eased my mind a little. If you can not afford the class, I would call the local hospital and at least see if you can take a tour of the facility. Having your first baby is such a time of unknowns, the more comfortable you feel, the better. I had planned to have my first child naturally and they told me about of lot of things that the hospital had on hand that I could use to help the process along, I would have never know if I didn't look into it before hand.

It's loaded with books and videos. Take advantage of the resource. If you want tips on good books, come knocking and I'll be happy to share my thoughts.

earthmomma - 1210 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i went to classes and didnt learn anything that i didnt already know. it was a waste of time and money. i think classes are for people who dont have any books or the internet or anything else, bc everything you learn in class you can learn just as easily on your own. the only thing i found really helpful was the hospital tour we got one night, but you should be able to go in and get a tour without taking a class.

1sttimemum2twins - 1211 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) In Australia that is the point of antenatal classes, to prepare you for a natural birth. I had a planned c-section but still found it worth while. I did an all day course. Its not expensive here though, $20 for both of us,including lunch.

kater - 1211 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i never went to classes, but i did a lot of reading about labor, how it happens, natural pain relieving techniques ect. the more prepared you are the better, but its up to you. i didnt have time for classes, reading library books when i could worked just as well!!
