Ok so i was told not to sleep on your right side cause it cuts of the circulation to the baby but every night i go to sleep on my left side but a;always seem to wake up and i am either on my right side or on my belly. but it is never uncomfortable so do you think i am hurting the baby or do you think she will be ok?

I find myself always on the wrong side. This happened in my first pregnancy too. I read a book that said this is not uncommon and not to worry. If wake up on the wrong side just slowly flip to the left. Don't worry about it. When you are on the left, the large veins don't get compressed and gives more oxygen to the baby. Im in the same boat as you, just do your best.

I think the reason they say not to sleep on your right is because that is the side your liver is on and so it can be uncomfortable because of the weight of your uterus. I am 32 weeks and sometimes being on my right side does feel different but other times it is more comfortable. Your back is the one you really should try to avoid. I did have to stay in L and D for the whole day to be monitored most of which I spent on my right side. The nurses never said anything and the baby's heart rate and movements were totally fine the whole time.

I asked a perinatologist--you know, the high risk, knee-jerking specialists who constantly try to scare people into all kinds of interventions? Yeah, they said don't worry about it and make yourself comfy. Could be more comfy on your left when you get to 30+ weeks. See what works for you.

It's fine, you'll wake up if there is a problem long before anything hurts you or the baby :)

your body will tell you if you're causing problems. you'll wake up feeling light headed or otherwise oxygen deprived. don't worry - i slept on myu back the whole pregnancy as that was the only way i could get comfy, and my baby is fine. you just have to listen to your body.
