aulrobbri - 471 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I did it from the day we came home-- just a few minutes a day and stayed right there with them. My youngest (3 months old now) can scoot around some

happyforest - 471 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) its good to start as soon as possible. your baby will be able to hold his head up sooner the more practice he gets. tummy time doesnt have to be flat on the floor, since hes so little still you can hold him on your chest while you are reclining (like you are burping him). my 3 weeks old like it a lot better that way than flat on the floor. and he will push up off my shoulder and chest with his arms and hold his head up for about 10 seconds.

CassandraLee - 471 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I started almost right away. I would put him on a play mat or on a Boppy pillow. The earlier you start the most used to it they are. You can set a young baby on their tummy with their head to one side. I would do it for 5-10 minutes at a time depending on how baby was doing. If you wait until they're holding their head up they might get fussy about tummy time.

dawnispregz - 471 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i waited till my lil man was holding his head up for a few secs, i jsut put ym lil man on his tumy on his mat and he try to push up, we do it for about 5mins a session or until hes bored

JacquelineTurner - 472 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) it really depends on the baby... if he is trying to lift his head up then go for it... my daughter was lifting herself at three weeks and thats when i started tummy time... another thing i did was use a mat w/ a boppy and prop the boppy under her chest and under her arms to kinda have her propped in a arched up position... she drooled and just looked down alot at first but within a few days she was getting the hang of it and it was less then two weeks when she was holding herself up okay on her own... it wasn't perfect but it was progress..good luck

jessicadarling - 472 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My daughter hated tummy time. Up until she discovered how to sit herself up. So for 7 months whenever on her tummy she would freak. SO I used to sit down and put my feet up on the coffee table and stick her on my thighs high enough so that she could see whatever was going on in the room. She really liked that

KarenBG - 472 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) sorry, I tried to edit my answer and both went through

KarenBG - 472 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) that's how babies learn to hold their heads up; by lifting it against gravity =) It is fine to start now as long as you supervise hiher. If he is not tolerating it well, the best position to start off in is by lying your baby on your chest and recline back (about 45 degrees).

msmillsap08 - 472 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I didnt put Lilly on her belly until she was able to hold her head up pretty good without support. Other moms here may have started before then but I didnt because I was afraid she would hurt herself.
