Hello! :-) I will be 37 weeks this tuesday. My due date is december 30th, but my obgyn said that if everything looks good and he is healthh and all that she can induce me up to a week before. So that would be december 22nd. Which I really really want him here for christmas....I might not be feeling so hot lol but I still want him here :-) last tuesday they checked me and I was dialated to a 1 and efaced 65 percent...in you girls past experiences, could this mean I will probably go into labor sooner than the 22nd? Or is my body just getting ready? Also I have been having like discharge looking stuff when I wipe. Sometimes its clear and just snotty looking, and sometimes its a little tinged brown with little ball chunks mixed in....I think this might be my plug...what do you think? And also how much longer after the plug is gone will I go into labor?

AlishaP - 1164 days ago Corrin I hope and PRAY, that my plug doesn't reform!!! Hahaha!! That would SUCK!!!! I go back to the doc tomorrow to get checked again!!! Hopefully I've progressed more!!

corrin - 1164 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i was dilated to a 4 at 35 weeks and was 80 effaced....walked around like that for3 weeks..also at the same time losing bits of the plug...which can reform itself over again so dont get excited about that!!lol..but yeah at 38 weeks and 4 cm and 95 effaced i threw in the towel and asked..or rather yet begged to be induced...8 hrs later i had my littl man and 24 hrs later i was home!!!

kristalsfirst - 1164 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i was due july 18th, july 19th i lost my mucas plug when i whiped to go to bathroom and went into labour the next day on the 20th. If you want to be induced and its safe then go for it, but i always wanted my baby to pick his own birthday. its your choice tho :)

antsmom - 1164 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I delivered at 38w 5 days. I woke up that morning and had blood on the toilet paper when I wiped. At 2pm, my mucus plug came out. At 7:20, my water broke. At midnight, my contractions started. My son was born at 1:07pm the day following the loss of my mucus plug. It's different for everyone. I was very lucky that everything progressed the way it did. Some people lose their plug and don't go into labor for weeks. Baby will come when baby is ready! good luck!!!

Lorien - 1164 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My Dr. had been wanting to induce me as well which is really tempting because I really want her to deliver me and not one of the other Dr.s. She wants to induce me because of gestational diabetes and low fluid but because the baby is doing so good she has left it up to me. When I saw her last I was a 1 and 40% effaced and she said that it was not enough to induce me without the possibility of a really long painful labor. I went in on Sunday and she gave me 2 doses of a low dose gel injected up near my cervix to soften things up just in case we needed to go through with an induction but not to put me into labor. I have been given pitocin twice with other pregnancies both of which I was already dilated to a 3/4 with and it worked but it was much more painful earlier on than the one that I went completely natural on. If you don't plan on getting an epidural I would not get induced without reason and also keep in mind you do increase your chances of a c-section especially if this is your first baby. Being dilated to a one is nothing even the nurses on Sunday were encouraging me not to get the pitocin unless the baby absolutely needed to come now. If you do decide to do it I would definitely talk to your Dr. about getting the gel I got starting the night or day before your actual induction so your body is more prepared. Good luck :-)

CassandraLee - 1164 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I dialated to 1cm at 40 weeks after loosing bits of my mucus plug. I was induced and never progressed past 5cm. Your mucus plug can regerate itself, so loosing bits of it really doesnt indicate anything. You body is preparing for delivery, but theres no way to know if its preparing to deliver in days or weeks. *If* I were you, I would not go with the induction. Your baby will come when he/she is ready. If there isnt a medical reason for induction, if its only to meet someone's schedule its not a good idea. Let baby be in there as long as baby needs.

happyforest - 1165 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) dilating to 1 cm doenst mean anything. i was dialted to 2 cm at 35 weeks and i ended up being induced at 40 weeks 3 days. but it is a good thing that at least you have started to progress. some people dont dilate at all before labor. at least you have one cm that you wont have to go through later. i lost my plug 3 weeks before i went in for my induction. when i did go to get induced, i was 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced.

candace3 - 1165 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Sounds like your body is definatly preparing. I had my last 2 babies at 39 weeks and they were completly perfect and came home 24 hours later. Good luck. I would see about getting induced, it will be nice to have your baby for Christmas. It sounds like maybe you won't even make it that long!!!! :)
