My daugher is constipated.I tried to give her some diluted apple juice and she refused that so I tried apple sauce and she wouldn`t take that either. I don`t want to intro a new food yet, she only has rice cereal, apples and bananas so far and bananas make you more constipated....ANY SUGGESTIONS???

mylittleman - 1160 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My little guy had this problem and still occasionally does. We immediately went for the prunes! Works wonders. You can get prune juice or baby food prunes. One small jar solved his problem w/in hours!

moms the word - 1162 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The darker the karo syrup the better. Worked for my little one every time.

baby2onboard - 1162 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) karo syrup is also good to mix in with the rice, and not really a new food but also i uced the glycerine suppositories on my baby

dawnispregz - 1162 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) thats why the citrus juice is ony 4 drops to an ounce of water.

jen - 1162 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) rice cereal, apples and bananas are binders, so they will only cause more harm then good. Pear juice works, and so does adding a teaspoon of dark corn syrup into a bottle you make for her. Good luck! (I wouldn't try and orange juice personally, only because they shouldn't have citric juices until they are at least a year old)

dawnispregz - 1162 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my midwife told me to give me lil one 1oz of cooled boiled water with 4 drops of orange juice, but it has to be from the fruit, not from any carton/bottle. so peel an orange/clementine etc and squeeze a few drops in, that gets things moving. also after that drink, you should bicycle her legs as that promotes movement, and pushing her knees to her chest, (so if she was stood she would be squatting) a warm bath eases the pain on the area too, nothing worse for adults than a burning/stinging bum, so imagine what its like a for a baby. A baby becomes more constipated because they associate poing with pain, so they hold off going therefore getting a back log of bowel movements and the older the poo the drier it becomes therefore making it harder - hence the vicious cycle.

My2nd - 1162 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Glycerine suppositories? Ask your pharmacist about his and whether it is safe for your daughter to use at her age. I know I used these with my son when he was still a baby.
