I joked with friends that I had a masters degree in elementary education, but somehow couldn't manage to potty train a three year old. After 6 months of trying, I finally came up with something that worked wonders. I would ask if he had to go, but not insist. Then when he had an accident I would calmly tell him he had to take a bath now. It was a warm, shallow bath, with no toys. Needless to say he was the cleanest kid on the block for three days, and then we were done. I just made a natural consequence. He eventually figured out that it was much easier to go to the bathroom, than take the time to undress, bath, and redress. Worked for me. Good Luck!

kater - 1161 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) why would a child want to have to bother monitoring their bodily functions (they never had to before, after all), stop doping something fun like playing, and go all the way down the hall to sit in a boring toilet if they dont have to? its a comfortable feeling to have on a warm nappy for some kids. you've got to look at from her perspective. if she is comfortable in a dirty diaper, she isnt going to train herself. i agree with the other mums. say goodbye to the nappy by day and be prepared to do some cleaning.... :)

smilebig27 - 1162 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) You will have to do it cold turkey. No daiper or pull-ups they are just like diapers. You will have to keep on reminding her to go potty. She will have accidents but will hate having wet underwear on. Don't change her right then and there give her tellher you are bussy doing something, making her wait she will not want to pee on herself again.

Lorien - 1162 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) With all 3 of mine I just took there diapers away. You have to be able to be at home with them for a couple of days and be willing to clean up some messes but the feeling of peeing in undies is much more unpleasant than in a diaper or pull up. Be sure to ask frequently if she needs to go and when she uses her potty give her a chocolate chip. When she has an accident say oops lets try to remember to use the potty so we can have a chocolate next time. Try it out and see if it helps. :-)

baby2onboard - 1162 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) there is a book called potty trained in just one day that is really good i've used it a few times works really well with encoraging older children. you throw them a potty party!

krystiannoah - 1162 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i know this sounds weird...but when my mom was trying to potty train me she put a flower pedal or even the whole head of the flower into the toilet and tell me that if i watered the flower than i would get a special treat(ice cream or my favorite candy bar) and i guess i was potty trained by 1 1/2 years old.......hope this helps
