baby clothing size question Added: 1154 days ago. Added by: KarenBG Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
Does anyone know if a Carter`s 3 mo size jammies is for a 0-3 mo old or a 3-6 mo old? They also have size 6, and I am not sure if that is 3-6 or 6-9...

I didn't even SEE the weight and height on the tag-I'll have to check that out! Thanks!

According to the associate at the Carter's store in my area, 3 would be 3-6mo, 6 would be 6-9mo. HOWEVER, for my son a 3 was more like 0-3. And as for the weight/height on the tag, that never applied to my son either. My son was 22.5", 10# 1 ounce at birth. According to every clothing maker's labels, he was too large for Newborn size. He fit into newborns well and for a few weeks. Each baby is different, each clothing maker is different. Its hard to know for sure what will fit when.

I agree...depends on the weight and length. My 3.5 month old is in 6-9 month clothing and some of those are getting too small. He weighs around 18#.

its weight dependant really, as some babies grow faster than othr my lil man is 10 weeks and hes in 3-6mth, and has been for 2 weeks. he very tall/log and stocky like his dad. go with judgement, if it looks tight or leaves waistband marks, or cant stretch legs properly without stretching babygrow then i would say hes too big .

thanks baby2-I have some that don't have a range so that's what I was trying to figure out. Thank you all-I have decided to put the "3 mo" with the 0-3, I would rather try it, find out that it is too big, and regroup it with my 3-6 mo clothes, than the other way around and not be able to use it.

if you notice there is also a size nb which is new born so that is where you begin nb is the first which is o-3 3 is the second size 3-6 6 is third 6-9 9 is 9-12 12 12-18 and so on, but it depends more on your baby's weight, than their age

Whenever there is a 3 on the tag it means up to 3 months and a 6 is up to 6 months etc. I have learned not to go by size though I just go by what fits. My daughter is 8 months old and some of her 3-6 months still fit her while some of the 9 months are too short and snug. It's bizarre. I wish there was a set size chart that every store had to follow

I disagree 3 month is closer to 3-6 b/c My daughter is in that size her size 6 do not fit I assume they are more 6-9.

Carters is tricky. It is suppost to be a 0-3 month but Carters runs a little big sometimes. I always go by what the weight on the tag says.

um, im gonna guess on the larger side of 3 months, so more 3-6. my daughter is 9 weeks old and still wearing her newborn sized stuff from carters lol and she is not a tiny baby! not that im complaining because they have the fold-over mit things on the hands and stuff and thats convienent for the snow around here!

My daughter is 4 months and is wearing size 3 months from Carter's and they are still a little big for her so it's hard to say. I do know they run pretty true to size.
