complete type 4 placenta previa Added: 1150 days ago. Added by: baby2onboard Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
ok long story longer... my dh is deploying in 3 weeks, i am switching dr, i don`t like the ones here in my town. i just had an u/s and was told i have complete previa, my dr didn`t tell me it was complete i merely read it on the chart. which makes me upset anyways, that she wouldn`t tell me the whole story. She said since it is early in my pregnancy placenta previa would most likely correct itself, however i know this is less likely with a type 4 or complete previa. Anyone had this or know the truth of how worried i should be? i really want the truth. thank you

Hi, don't worry. I had the exact same thing that you were diagnosed with. My doctor told me it would correct itself as soon as my uterus grew big enough to move it higher and away from my cervix and thats exactly what happened. I'm not sure how pregnant you are but mine corrected itself around 25 weeks I think. If it does not correct itself the worse case scenario is that you will have to have a c-section so that the baby doesn't try to pass through the birth canal and cause you heavy bleeding due to the placenta being in the way. I know you are scared, I was very frightened when I found out about my own problem but it will either resolve itself later in your pregnancy or your doctor will encourage you to have a c-section. Try not to worry :)

I have a friend who I work with who had complete and was bleeding at 3 months. now, at 7 months, the placenta has moved up a little but she is still on pelvic bedrest. Prayers to you!

As early as you are I wouldn't worry at this point. I had complete placenta previa with my 3rd and was diagnosed at around 3 months. At 7 months I had another ultrasound that showed it had in fact migrated up and I went on to have a normal vaginal delivery. My Dr. told me the same as yours she said it being that early odds were it would move up as my uterus grew. I was on pelvic rest from 1 month (I had some other stuff go on before the previa as well) until my ultrasound at 7 months which with your husband deploying will be a little easier to manage (mine had just got back from a deployment it was like 2 years with almost no sex :-( But really don't worry unless you have bleeding then go in right away but otherwise hang in there and send your husband off knowing that you will be ok and give him a thank you and a hug from us :-)

hi I had placenta pravia type 4 when i had my scan at 20 weeks and the docs wasnt going to give me another scan till i was 36 wks.
just make sure you go to a hospital with a really good reputation cause i am so glad i did. you will certainly have a section.
try and not to worry about this condition luv as it all works out for the best.
I had a blead at 30 wks not a big one but it was enough to get straight down the hospital, where they kept me in as i was constantly bleading just a little like a small period.
there is a tendancy to go into premature labour with placenta pravia and you can have a big blead.
I went into premature labour with my son at 34.6days he had already had the steroids at 30 weeks injucted into me when i first went in to the hospital so his lungs were fine he was born fine no probs, but because i went into premature labour my placenta disintigrated and i had a big blead so everything went at top speed and i was under anasthetic within 5 mins.
please dont worry i was worried sick i really was and it was scarry but beleive me your in the best place. if you have any signs of bleading around 30 ish wks get straight to hospital and they should make you stay put. and have a rest and just enjoy the bonding time with your little one.
