I`m 12.5 weeks. When should we start planning the nursery? I dont want to jinx anything. Is there a certain time to start going crazy shopping for baby?

You know when I had my first child, I started buying things for him almost as soon as I found out I was pregnant. My sister thought I would jinx my pregnancy. I am happy to announce my son is now 3 and I am so glad I bought things early as waiting right until the end is too costly. If you spread it out over 9 months it is much easier on the pocket.

my mom always put a crib up as soon as she found out she was pregnant, and now does it for her grandbabies, she thinks it's a jinx not to have a place for the baby. i go crazy the second i find out the sex seriously can't even make it home, straight to the store!!

I'm 16 weeks, and just ordered the crib, changing table, dresser, and glider and ottoman today. Up until now I have been buying a gender neutral thing here and there. It is just too exciting!

I would buy when you know the sex. Also paint/ decorate/ wash things early on. The last 2 months when your huge, are exhasuting!

i started the nursery around 6-7 months pregnant but that's because i was waiting for family members/friends to get me things like the crib, etc because they wanted to. however, i did get a bassinet and dresser early on. it's up to you when to do it! i know some people wait till late in the third trimester or some even wait until the baby is born because, as they may say, you never know. but, in my opinion, you have to have some sort of positivity! isn't it such a pleasurable experience to create/decorate your little one's new home? go for it and enjoy it!

I found out the sex at 13 wks and went crazy from there. You're not going to jinx anything. Enjoy planning and shopping now. Believe me, the weeks start going by quicker and quicker and before you know it you're sitting at almost 32 weeks and no nursery built (like me). Congratulations!

I had everything bought by my 13th week except the pack and play. (I bought that my 16th) hehehe I was very excited. I also bought 2 large tubs of gender neutral clothes until I found out that I was having a princess. There is nothing wrong with buying things early.

With this baby and with my last baby, I went out the weekend I found out I was pregnant and bought little baby sleepers. It was just something to make me feel positive about the pregnancy and a new baby!!!

The chance of anything going wrong past 12 weeks is less than <2%. I started at 10 weeks. People have to realise that even if something DOES go wrong, it's NOT because you told people too soon or bought things too early. It's because something was wrong with the baby or some other aspect of the pregnancy. There's no reason to think anything should go wrong, so buy things and be poaitive. We have left the buying of the pram and nursery furniture til past 24 weeks though, I must confess, but there/s no reason to do so realistically.. Start whenever you wish.. :D Congrats!
