with my 1st baby, my waters broke in hospital, but there was so much, the room was flooded out and 2 midwives had to get changed! I am now terrified of what will happen this time, what do you do if they break in public?

Cas26 - 319 days ago Thanks for your replies, it is true i was lying down when it happened the 1st time so i guess that made it worse!

gr8scottswife - 321 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My water broke in the bed. It was just enough to get my panties wet and leave a small area on the bed. I had plastic under the sheets, so we just didn't worry. You can get a bed bag to put down to protect your mattress. You can also put layer your bed with clean, good sheets and then put the bed bag on (or shower curtain) and then put on another layer of sheets that don't matter if they are messed up.

dawnispregz - 322 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) just be prepared babes like katiemul said- prob be a trickle, i felt moist when laid down in bed, got up a small gush happened very direct to floor but not much at all. dont worry about waters breaking honey - its not the first time the midwives have got changed n its not the last. i had a conraction walking from bath to bed in hospital corridor n lost more plug - then apparently it was swinging from 'me' below my knee lol,gross!!!- i didnt know then about the swinging plug!, n now i do i dont care.labour is a messy thing- dont stress x x

ibaheir2dathrone - 322 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Lol, I wore a depends with 3 of my 4 pregs. at the very end. I was scared of that happening. (the pull up kind. lol

katiemul - 322 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) at the hospital u were probably lying down right? when your standing up theres a good chance the baby's head will act like a cork, and youll only get a little trickle run down your leg. dont worry! it will be ok!

msmillsap08 - 322 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Oh, just go out prepared. Wear a Pad towards the end and keep a change of clothes with you so u are not caught off guard. Actually it should be something that none of us should be embarrased about, its a natural occurence. Mine broke in the hospital too though not as much because I was only 28wks along. Take some towels with you so you dont stain the car seat and you should be good to go hon. Best of Luck!
