Anyone teaching their baby to sign? What are you using as a learning device? And what age did you start?

tamara0209 - 1134 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I taught my son to sign at around 9 months old. Alot of repitition with the same sign worked, because once he understood the sign and how it worked he was able to pick up the rest. Everybody in my family loved that he could sign because it cut out so much frustration with the communication process. I believe in total we used about 5 signs with him before he was able to communicate with words. WE started with the sign for "more", and funny enough when he really wants our attention he still signs for more but has forgotten all the rest of the signs. I just picked up a pack of sign language cards from chapters and used those. GOOD luck

You can go to a book store and get a book, I think my was call "Baby first sign" something like that. I love that book. i will teach this baby how to sign, we talk that way all the time. When he is mad at my BF he will sign and my BF don't understand it. It's our special way of talking to one another.
