How long after you c-section did you start driving again I`m dying to get behind the wheel again but can`t find any diffantive answer and don`t want to find out I`m not insured. (my section was 5 weeks ago).

harpchick - 1132 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I've had three c-sections now. The first two I was advised to wait a month. This time it's been five weeks and I only just started driving yesterday (even though because of incision infections and an extra-wide incision because of surgical complications I'm not supposed to drive till next week). Your doc really does know what's best... so ask.

2b - 1132 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was told 2 weeks due to pain medications but was not taking them because I was pain free so I drove a week after to get my little guy to the doctors.

soon2bmommaof2 - 1132 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was released to drive 2 weeks after my csections.

RobinG - 1132 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was ok to drive 2 weeks after :) Had 2 sections was never told I had to wait longer ~

My2nd - 1132 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) In South Africa the norm is 6 weeks......hope that helps. No driving before 6 weeks.

Desiree79 - 1132 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I live in Australia, but I was told by my doctor after having my first c-section that you need to wait 6 weeks. This gives your wound time to heal properly... With my first I drove after 5 weeks and was fine and with my second I drove after 2 weeks and was also fine.. But I think as a rule of thumb you are meant to wait 6 weeks..

Bienks - 1132 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I started driving after a week, because I had to take baby for his 10 day check up and shots.

1sttimemum2twins - 1132 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would definitely check with your insurance company. I have heard several times that if your not cleared by your dr and you have an accident then your insurance company can refuse to pay.

Holly28 - 1132 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I waited two weeks. At this point I was feeling good, no pain or anything.

CassandraLee - 1132 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I agree about the not being on pain killers part. I think thats part of the risk of driving after cesarean. You would have to ask your DR about the recommended wait time. It wouldnt have anything to do with insurance. I drove within a week. I'm a single mommy and didnt have a choice.

mama-sl0p - 1133 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I waited 2 weeks

barunka05 - 1133 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) With my first i was driving right away, because i had no choice. I was supercareful but everything was allright.I think they said to me this time to wait couple weeks before driving.

moms the word - 1133 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My doctor told me to wait two weeks to give my incision time to heal so that using the pedals didn't stretch the internal stitches. As for insurance, they can't stop covering you just cause you had a cesarean. As long as you aren't on any pain killers, drive on!
