tamara0209 - 1108 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I nursed my son until he was 20months, but I introduced food at 6 months and it went well. He decreased the amount he nursed but still nursed to 20 mons.

faith-star-x - 1108 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) hi ya each babie is different and really will let you know when they are good and ready for being weaned,my Lo who is four months on the 6th feb has been on solids since 3months as she was not satisfied on just milk, she is happy and healthy and loves her food, if you think your Lo is ready try a lil baby rice if they spit it out constantly and dont take ant at all they are not ready x

rachel86 - 1108 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i started at about 4 months because i felt she was ready my son didnt start til 6 - 6 1/2 months but i dont know she just needed it sooner!!

trkrchk - 1108 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I am guessing breastfeeding? Mine weaned at 9 months. I guess solid food and real life was just better than hanging out with mom for 30 minutes a pop. When I introduced solid food my milk naturally slowed a bit, and she was never satisfied, so I started offering bottles at 7 months. By time she was 9 months she was done. Unless you want/need to wean, I would go as long as possible. Forumla is EXPENSIVE! Emily will be one year old in 9 days. She is off a bottle and a pacifier. I took her off both at the same time. It was easier than I thought it would be. What a big girl!

dawnispregz - 1108 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) every child is different and they know when their milk isnt sustaining them and they'll tell ya too,my lil one started waking at 5am again like a newborn for a feed and hes already on 9oz, so i knew baby rice cereals -gluten free till 6 mths old- had to be introduced into his diet, and he loves it, its not about making him grow faster or him being a 'big boy' before his time its about him being hungry and me doing the right thing. I told a health visitor that he had started on baby rice and she wasnt happy at all,- but its the first time she met me and she doesnt know me or JD, i spoke to my own health visitor and she was 'fine- hes a big boy(as you know!)start him on mashed carrot and mashed potato next week and build it up to proper meals..(obv no salt or milk or butter in potato)'.....so contradicting advice from health visitors- but i know my son and my health visitor knows me and my son, so thats what i'll be doing. The timescales are indicators/guidelines...not every child is text book, just as pregnancies vary.

MomOfAlmost3AtHome - 1108 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I did not introduce any solid foods with both of my children until 6 months. As the previous poster said you are not supposed to stop BM or fomula until 1 year. I actually nursed both of my children for a full year, and at that point they weaned themselves, and there was not process of trying to dry up. By the time they were done I was down to one feeding a day, and I just stopped and was never engorged or anything.

luvbeingamom - 1108 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I waited until my son was 7 months before adding solids to his diet. He wasn't really interested before then. Plus waiting that long kept me from having to buy a ton of baby food. He moved almost straight to softer adult foods. Also, you aren't suppose to wean your child from BM or Formula until after they are a year old. There main source of nutrition should come from either breast milk or formula until a year, solids are just for practice before then.
