Natural Miscarriage Added: 1067 days ago. Added by: aussie-jess Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
Hi, I am starting to miscarry. I started bleeding/cramping 2 days ago, and had the `incomplete miscarriage` confirmed yesterday. I am wanting to do it naturally. If anyone out there has done it naturally if you can please give me some information on the details, eg. How long, how were the cramps, bleeding etc. Thank you so much.

I had one miscarriage I was 9 weeks and there wasn't a heart beat. I wanted to do it naturally but I wasn't losing anything so my doctor gave me a pill to use to help speed it along. Well I started to hemorage so I would be careful with any decision. You know what your body can handle so if for any reason you find that you are having a hard time go back to your doctor

Hi, thank you so much everyone for sharing your story with me. I just went to the doctors and plan to do this naturally if I can. I just had more intense pains, and passed a few bigger clots, and a lot more than usual blood. I still have the pains, so I am hoping it will all end sooner rather than later. I have to go back to the hospital today to get my RH shot, apparently the ER doctor should have given it to me over the weekend, but he didnt. I found out that the baby died at 7 weeks, so it took about 4 weeks for my body to realise. Its very hard to keep up with normal life with the bleeding and pains, especially looking after a 14 month old. I find the pains ease a little if I can lay still, but I rarely get a chance to do that!
Anyway, thanks again, I really appreciate it!
Jess.

I have lost three babies, two DNC’s and my first was naturally. I remember being in much pain with the natural one. My doctor put me on bed rest for what I remember to be a week. I bled a lot and for at least two to three weeks. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I had a miscarriage when I was 17. I was about 3 months along. My dr wanted me to do it naturally but I started bleeding so bad they had to admit me to the hospital and do a D&C. It was terrible for me. They told me I was having labor pains and my body kept trying to push the baby out. After a week or so and 3-4 trips to the hospital, they admitted me. I almost needed a blood transfusion. I say if your body can handle it then let it run its course. I'm so sorry for your loss. Its a terrible thing to lose a baby. I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy.

I am so very sorry about your loss. For your Q's: There is so much variation about timing, cramping, bleeding. As your HcG values go down, everything will ease away, but there's no predicting it. I have m/c'd naturally many times: At 5 wks, 6 wks, 7 wks, and at 8 1/2 wks. I'd been advised to do so naturally as the best choice "if you plan on being pregnant again," b/c there is a risk of scarring the uterus via d&c. I have no direct experience to share about d&c. For that last one, I was at 12 wks when it was discovered as a "missed m/c" and they asked which way I wanted to go. They said usually before 8 wks, they recommend natural, and after 8 wks they recommend d&c. I chose natural, and my body waited another couple of weeks to get things started. By the time it was all over I was just really tired and wanted to move on. There is a medication they can give you to get the contractions started if you're still waiting. I think I was overwhelmed at the time so I overlooked that option. If you go natural, just put on a big pad, get out your motrin, and brew yourself a cup of tea. Keep talking with friends and partner about your feelings and give yourself time to grieve--There's no day to mark on the calendar for "getting over it."

I had two and one was like 5 days the other took about 2 months. I bleed forever it seemed. I think it has to do with how far along you are. Wasn't that far the first time but the second time I was 10 weeks. I'm sorry to hear about your lose, as I know what it is to lose a child myself. I hope this helps some and I pray all gets better.

hi i was going thru that a month ago.....i wanted to do it naturally at home too but after 4 days i started to bleed really heavy and heomoraged i lost alot of blood and ended up in hospital for a curette. while i was at home it felt like i was in full blown labour and honestly was quite relieved when i had the procedure done. it allowed me to just grieve for my baby and not be in physical pain....sorry if im not much help but i thought it might make u feel a lil better knowing others have been thru it too

I started spotting brown blood and went to the dr that day.. they told me the baby had passed (I was 11 weeks) and by the time I got home I was bleeding like a regular period. That same night.. later on I had excrusiating pain and passed huge clots.. tons of blood. I went to the ER around 2am.. stayed there until 11am. They pretty much just gave me pain meds to knock me out. I bled for about 3 days like a regular flow and then it was over. I had to keep getting blood drawn for 4 weeks every 3 days or so to monitor my hcg levels and then they gave me an u/s to make sure everything had passed about 7 days later. It was really tough on me emotionally even though I was young (18) and wasn't ready for a baby.. it's still hard no matter what. Msg me if you have any questions.. so sorry to hear about your loss. take care.

ive had 2 miscarriages. i started bleeding and having bad period cramps. went to the ER and said ur probably miscarrying just go home and rest and take tylenol blah blah. nothing u wanna hear i know. but i had both of them naturally cuz i was no more than 9 weeks on both of them. i had really really bad cramps for only like 1 night on the 1st miscarriage. the 2nd one i had pretty bad cramps but not as bad as the 1st miscarriage and they just lasted a few hours then they just turned into normal kinda period pains. idk how far along u are but im guessing ur probably pretty early. the bleeding for me was pretty heavy, heavier than a normal period for about 2-3 days then got lighter and lighter and all the bleeding lasted about 8 or 9 days. so0 just expect to have a heavier flow of blood. and of course the cramps are bad, but if u havent been doubled over in pain like i was with the cramps thus far u probably wont be. i suggest tylenol to ease the cramps. and ull probably bleed for about a week, maybe a little more. but just try to take it easy, rest as much as possible, and drink lotssss of fluids, as much as u can itll help u bounce back and feel better faster. im sorry for ur lose! i know this is a tough time! hope this helped! sorry its soo long =/
