Is there a limit to how many c-sections you can have?

mariettap - 1063 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) The medical risks to mother and baby increase with each consecutive surgical delivery, so it's good to talk w/ your doc about it for family planning purposes. Now, if you exceed the "golden number" and get pregnant again anyway, well, the baby's gotta come out, one way or another. By that point, depending on the types of c-section incisions, etc, VBAC may be out of the question, and so the mother simply has to accept the risk of another surgical delivery.

mellowyellow - 1064 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I have heard that most docs don't like to do more than 3, I believe mostly because of the scarring, externally it can heal very well but internally can be another matter. I had a friend who had 3 and had to go back later and have Adhesions divided after her last c section. The internal scarring had "stuck" to her abdominal wall and was pulling! Yikes
