cindywrenn - 1058 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my LO is now 5months old i had the occasional glass of red wine every 2nd week to be exact and everything was fine with LO there are alot of opinions about this but as they say rather safe than sorry

kbrooke1231 - 1058 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had a glass of wine here and there while pregnant. I know everyone will say I'm a bad mom. I has contractions every 5min for a month before I was induced, my Dr said to have a glass to help me relax. I did. I don't think a glass a month is that awful. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is caused by continuous excessive drinking, not just one glass of wine as some would say. no hard liquor though.

MomOfAlmost3AtHome - 1058 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was told that NO amount of alcohol is safe. I even had a nurse recommend to me to avoid using mouth wash with alcohol in it because it can be absorbed through your gum tissue. Your husband may feel it is safe, but honestly, I just would not. There may be a lot of pregnant women who do indulge, but I will not be one of them. I taught elementary school for years, and like some of the others said, the complications are not always visible on the outside. Learning disabilities can be such a challenge for both children and parents. I would recommend that you abstain.

dreamymommy - 1058 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I agree with aprilraine, one glass of wine is all it takes sometimes, especially if you're not drinking all the time. So be SAFE and just avoid it, that way you know you did all you can to have a healthy baby and you'll be guilt FREE. good luck

kenyanmama - 1059 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) no two pregnancies are the same. that said, there is no "safe" amount of alcohol to take. a baby might be born looking normal but the effects of alcohol on baby are longterm i.e you might realize em when u take the baby to school and he/she is so slow and doesn't get things as fast as the other children do. my advice: just sacrifice the alcohol for the baby..its only for a while.

Owens Mom - 1059 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) a glass of wine a day is good for you...my doc told me that it wouldn't hurt baby either....

karenbg - 1059 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) no, not okay

JuliMomOf4 - 1059 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I always thought (and the ads on tv :P) that no alcohol is the safest. Although, I have had a few with this one before I even realised I was pregnant. But I'm talking a glass of white wine with dinner lol! I know people who drank heaps whilst pregnant and I always told them off. Even though their babies came out perfectly normal. The risk is just too high.

aprilraine - 1059 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) just one glass of wine makes me tipsy, so I wouldn't want to know what it does to my unborn baby. I wouldn't risk it.

allison:chickenmouse - 1059 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Also wine is a strong alcoholic beverage. What I don't get it you are not supposed to drink and breastfeed but doctors say it is okay to drink a little bit when the baby is in your womb, it sounds fishy to me because if the baby is in your womb it has access to everything you eat and drink.

steffilily - 1059 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I was told by my dr no amount of alcohol at all. I heard a story on IAP few months ago that there was a lady who was told by her dr that 1 small glass of wine a day should be fine. Her baby was born with so many problems. It is being discovered more nowdays that it is better to not drink any alcohol at all. Alcohol actually does more damage than drugs would. Drugs can come out of baby's system when they are born, but alcohol causes permanent damages.

allison:chickenmouse - 1059 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I would never drink while pregnant, its just how I see things, my cousin had a few drinks while pregnant and her child has some serious problems including Fetal alcohol syndrome, your doctor might tell you different, and by all means do what you please, but I would never risk it.

courtenay - 1059 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) anything in moderation, a drink here or there isnt going to hurt anything. my doctor told me to go ahead and have a drink when i was 7 months pregnant and craved it so bad.

happyforest - 1059 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i have heard this too---but the truth is NO ONE knows how much or how little alcohol it takes to cause damage to the baby. so really its just up to you whether you want to take the risk or not...there were a lot of time where i would have LIKED to have some wine, but i know i would have spent the rest of my pregnancy worrying about it, so it wasnt worth it to me

last.one.for.me - 1059 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) One glass of wine once or twice a week is supposed to be ok.. Personally, I think any woman that can't stop drinking for a mere 9 months is a bit selfish though - it's 9 months out of your entire life, it's manageable.. :] That said, thats my OWN OPINION, if you want a glass, go for it.. but I wouldnt have more than one on any given night...

katey25 - 1059 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) There's so much conflicting information about this.. in my opinion 1 wont hurt you or bubz.. however I can't physically stomache it even though I'd love nothing more! x
