What`s your opinion on the Bumbo seats?

I`m debating on if I should get one or not for my son. What do you ladies think of yours and is it that great of an item?

Heaven - 1058 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Mariah loves her bumbo. We just bought the tray that goes on top of it and she laughs and hits the tray. Its so funny. I say try it. Within 3 days of using it she was sitting up by herself. I know all cases are different so don't think this will happen to your child. but i recommend it

mariettap - 1058 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Someone let me borrow one. I sat my baby in it at about 3 1/2 mos. Nothing wrong with it, but I just looked at this little baby and asked myself, why am I trying to get her to sit up before her body is ready to? I couldn't come up with a good answer, so I won't be using it. I'd rather play with her--tummy time, etc, and let her strengthen up her body and sit up when it's time to. I'll return it in good condition with a polite, "Thanks for the loan," and then forget about it.

wwatters18 - 1058 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) my baby likes hers for about 2 minutes at a time and thats it. she is 5 1/2 months old and shes had it since christmas. hopefully she will like it more later on cause they are cool but you only get use out of em if baby likes it!

jaydsmom - 1058 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My son hates his too. I can get him to sit in it for about 5 min and then he starts to freak out. Maybe try one second hand. Between the seat and the tray and taxes I wasted almost $100.

My daughter hates being confined (she would never let herself be swaddled, and she doesn't like anything that smooshes her legs). She also doesn't like sitting, and immediately stand up any time I put her in a sitting position. Maybe if there was a bumbo baby stander. ;-p

tto - 1058 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My son hated being confined like that and would try to straighten up so he could pop out. He never did pop out but he sure tried. It was expensive and we hardly used it. Plus the darn things float- so I can't even use it in the tub.

wisfarmgirl - 1058 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I heard babies can out grow them really fast. And sometimes their thighs don't fit in the seat very well as every baby is different. That's why I never got one. Maybe you could test one out at the store to see what you think of it before you invest in one.

I have pictures of her sitting in it during her first Christmas, it was great for her to be able to sit up and play with bows. ;) Well, thankfully I saved it, so our new little one can use it in a few months... if she ever decides to arrive! I have a hard time keeping my other 2 out of it though. Silly kiddos. I've seen many listed on craigslist if you're looking for a good deal.

They are pricey - maybe a friend has one you can borrow - I've passed mine on to one of my preggo gal pals.
