Buy Second hand, hand me down's from friends that have little ones, make your own baby food, buy in bulk, take snacks and drinks with you when you go...so if you take a little longer and little ones get hungry, you can give then that instead of quick fixing it with mcdonalds or something like that....also remember to pay it forward... I get alot of stuff second hand and then when I'm done with it...I pass it on

I use cloth napkins and cleaning rags instead of spending money on paper napkins and paper towels. I buy a lot of store-brand groceries; a lot of them are just as good as the national brands. I also try to buy some stuff in bulk to save. Make sure lights are turned off in rooms we're not in, wash clothes with cold water, and I believe you can use baking soda instead of laundry detergent.

I make my own baby food which definately has saved me money. I also buy in bulk and look for offers. Also when I shop I work out how much things cost per wash/ltr/kg/packet etc. Even through something might be a little more expensive out right, sometimes it is actually cheaper per kg. It might only be pence but it all adds up. I also get mutli-buy deals. Again I may spend a little more outright but I do end up saving as I dont have to buy things as often. I hang my washing out on the line at every possible oportunity to save on electric. When is it cold I put my heater on and close all the doors, when the house has warmed up and turn off the heaters off and as long as I make sure the doors are closed my house stays warm for hours and hours.

I never have time to use the internet at home and I can use it at work, so I called to cancel my home internet and the person tried to get me to keep it by offereing me a 50% discount. So I totally recommend calling your provider and telling them that you're considering cancelling b/c of the cost and see if they offer you a discount. It can't hurt. You could maybe try that on other services too. :)

Buy pretty much all our baby equipment like pack n play, excersaucer, swing, sterilizable toys, books, clothes, stroller, carseat, second hand. Everyone comments on how cool or neat my sons stuff is, and how well he is dressed. I shop at 2nd hand baby stores and never spend over $4 for an outfit. Craigslist is my best friend when it comes to buying bigger things for the baby and for our house! We just bought another crib, changing table and mattress (the dark cherry, sleigh style) for only $125 total on Craigslist! You can't beat that even in 2nd hand stores! We buy mostly generic brand food which we calculated has saved us around $100 a month. We're conscious of lights and water being left on. I buy in bulk when I can. I also keep all my coin change that I get and throw it in a container. It adds up pretty nicely! About every few years I find that I have a few hundred bucks in there! I dunno, I'm a bargain shopper and that's really how we save! If you have the time to sift through Goodwill or thrift stores you can find alot of name brand, even new items for only a couple bucks!
