Hormonal!! Added: 1052 days ago. Added by: shortielee17 Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
Lately I have been really weepy and jealous feeling. My boyfriend is normally very supportive. But I think it`s getting to him. He snaps at me now when I try to tell him how I feel. Let me know how you dealt with this. It`s making things very hard!

I feel very lucky I haven't had any of these moods and when I get into a crying fit usually when watching extreme makeover home edition he kinda teases me asking why I am crying. It happened the first time he was tickling me so I used that as an excuse. Now he asks if he is tickling me and I put my hand on his leg and say your leg is tickling my hand. You have to find humor in the little things to get through the bigger ones, but I have been very very lucky.

It was like this for my hubby and I with our first baby. I was only young (18) and had no idea what was going on with my hormones it scared me as much as him!! But I took him to one of my Midwife appts and asked her why I was so "stupid" at times. Told her that I could be a bit annoying at times. She sat hubby down and explained it to him. Told him it wouldn't last forever and that the second the baby was born, I'd be much better. Seemed to work, we're going through baby number 5 now and it's another emotional roller coaster. He gives me cuddles when I need them and hides when I'm argumentative!

Have you seen the movie "Knocked Up"? There's a scene were the boyfriend tells her "F@#k you hormones, not you the hormones." My DH and I get a chuck when we think of that part only AFTER my own hormonal mood has passed.

After 3 pregnancies, luckily my hubbie knows what to expect. During my 1st pregnancy, my husband lived in our bathroom. A few nights he even slept in there! Just try to keep in mind that men have no concept of what you are going through. On your good days, spoil him rotten and pray that it is enough to half way make up for your bad moments! Also, talk to him. Apologize, explain that you don't understand your own body and the way you react. Communication is key! Good luck!

I just went through an episode of that myself last week. Just keep reminding yourself and your BF that it's just the hormones. And when you need something from him be very specific. Take a break, a walk, a bath, a nap, and know that it'll pass and just hang in there! :)
