T hrowing Up?? Added: 1046 days ago. Added by: ::Isaac::Gabby::Amber Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
My daughter doesnt spit up she throws up! I cant get her to get better. Its been like 3 months and recently its been getting alot worse! I dont know what to do, I have talked to her doctor, many nurses at the hospital, and many family relitives. All with kids that spit up all the time not threw up. There is a diffence spitting up is only like a little and it can happen frequently. Throwing up is like all they eat in the hour or so. I mean 6 oz bottle. I dont know what to do she is throwing up everyday now. Her doc and other people say its normal. That i need to keep a look at it. Making sure she is gaining weight and what not. But throwing up everyday. Perferably well more at night. She is not sick with a cold she just ends up coughing so much that she throws up. Then she will be fine the rest of the night. Its really difficult my poor baby. Did any one ever have this happen to their baby? I am curious because if this is normal then it must happen in most babies. Please let me know. I am worried about my baby. Thanks for your responses!

we had that too. feedings were challenging too. it was reflux in our case. zantac has made a world of difference. elevate that crib mattress for safety. we have had some terrible scares with vomiting in the crib. I have rescued dd from an airway full of vomit--it is so frightening. push harder w/ doc or get a new one.

YUP: have her treated for reflux and see if it helps. Sounds pretty "classic reflux" to me and like your dr. is a tool! If the meds don't work, ask to be referred to a specialist that diagnoses allergies in children. Could be the soy or the milk either in the formula OR in your diet (if you're BFing). The little twins next door to us had soy and milk allergy through their mama's milk, and that was causing reflux. Once they got on alimentum they were fine. They were gaining weight, but so sad! You're a mama lion, and if something's not right, you know it. So fight for your little cub!

My son is 5 months old and had loads of problems feeding. At first everyone was like, oh its normal, but I knew deep down something was wrong. In the end my son was given gaviscon for reflux, it sort of helped but not alot. After a while he stopped gaining weight so he was referred straigt to the hospital where he was prescribed a special milk, for the first 2 weeks it was great, but over the past 3 weeks we have noticed him throwing up again ALOT!!! He has another follow up appt in a couple of weeks at the hospital and ill mention it. As long as your baby is gaining weight then she should be ok. But keep a close eye on her weight, also write ALL her feeds, and how often she is sick, and how many wet/soiled nappies she has. I did this to show the doc and as soon as he saw it, he was right on the case. At least when things are in black and white docs can't argue with you. If you feel in your gut something is not right please go with it....It's called mothers instinct!! TRUST IT.

I agree with amy,it could also be a serious case of acid reflux.maybe she is couhing like this coz the acid is burning her food pipe then she throws up.Is she also kicking and arching her back when she drinks??

This happened to my son as well. Everyone told me it was normal but i knew something was wrong as my son shouldnt be throwing up whole bottles. After listening to everyone i finally went to the doctors and turns out he has a milk allgery. He didnt delvope this until he was 2 months. But as soon as i switch to a soy formula all the throwing up stop after a few feeding. I dont know why your doctor is saying this is normal, becuase it clearly is not!!!
