which formula is right? Added: 1040 days ago. Added by: mother649808 Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
I have twins that are now 4 weeks old. They have been on BM up til now. Its just impossible for me to keep up with them! Lol! Anyhow they are in the NICU and they have started them on a preemie sililac. It seems to be giving them stomach aches! I am not sure which formula would be best to put them on. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

CALL YOUR LOCAL LA LECHE LEAGUE REPRESENTATIVE IMMEDIATELY!!! http://www.llli.org/WebUS.html She will have GREAT suggestions for boosting your milk supply. If you ask, she will probably even come join you at the hospital and help you with breastfeeding emotional support. I can tell that you already know BM is the best for preemies, so keep at it, mama! Finally, I have a singleton, but he prefers his BM from the "source" and doesn't drink a ton at daycare. I donate my extras to the Ohio Milk Bank. Your doctor can write a prescription (!) for BM and get it through Ohio (or a different milk bank). At least until they're out of the NICU! Drop me a message if you'd like more info. Best of luck, and keep fighting for those Cubs, Mama Lion!

I love Good Start. My LO had belly trouble and reflux, and have had success with that.

I had the same problem with my preemie twins. They were started on Similac Advance but I prefer the Enfamil brand so I started them on Enfamil Lipil at 2 days old. Well they were having pretty firm BMs and just weren't content. I knew a ton of people that had success with Enfamil Gentle Ease so I switched to it when they were about 10 days old and it was perfect! It is hydrolyzed, which means it's partially broken down and easier to digest. I recommend it with all my heart now; it did us wonders. Plus, Target has their version of it, which is chemically IDENTICAL, so I buy that because it's 60% cheaper! Only $14.89 per large can!!! And with twins you need all the savings you can get!
