Ear Pit

Has anyone had a child, or known of anyone who has, who has an `ear pit`? My 4 month old has a very small ear pit the doctor pointed out to me. It is right above his right ear, the best I can describe it is that it looks like an ear piercing in the wrong spot. She said if he passed his newborn hearing screening he should be fine, and it is probably just superficial. I am nervous though, from reading online I see this is considered a birth defect of the ear. Thanks!

I have never had any problems with it, and have perfect hearing. I wouldnt worry! I think they only worry if the baby has another anomalie. So dont worry! I am sure your baby will be fine!
