How soon were you ladies able to get a gender ultrasound? My doc wants me to wait until 18 wks. There has to be someone who`s gotten one before that.

ElesaB - 1022 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I knew I was having a girl way before that cause I had a level 2 ultra sound. My doctor is pretty good at just lookin at a normal ultra sound and saying what it might be she said my son was a boy at 15 weeks

LilyPants - 1022 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My doctor said I was measuring large, so we scheduled my first u/s at 18 wks, and they think our baby is a girl. However, the clinic I go to does free gender ultrasounds between 22-25 weeks, so I get to have another between then, I think, to be sure of the gender.

kbrooke1231 - 1022 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My Dr likes to wait until 20weeks. I went to an ultrasound spa and had a gender scan done at 17 weeks because I couldn't wait. The scan was correct.

chrissy-511 - 1022 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I found out when i was 18 weeks that it's a boy, but that's just bc i know someone who works in a hospital & she did the u/s for me. I don't get my gender u/s from my doctor till i'm 24 weeks! I have to act surprised then!

Khloes Mommy - 1023 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had mine at 19 weeks. My doc told me the longer you wait the better because sometimes it takes longer for the male parts to "drop" so you could be told girl if checked to early.

tamm - 1023 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i had the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. after that i had monthly ultrasounds, and asked every time if they could confirm it was a boy. they confirmed every time (except once when his legs were in the way). good thing they were right :-)

emma32uk - 1023 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i had a scan at 20 weeks and they couldnt tell because the babies legs were crossed!! so i had to wait until 23 weeks when i had another scan (for growth) and the consultant said it was a girl, also backed up by the sonographer. i went mad on all the pink stuff, and prayed they got it right!! i had a scan last week at 33 weeks and i could actually see for myself it was a girl!! i just had to see it for myself really to be convinced and early on in the pregnancy i just couldnt make it out!!!

oliviad27 - 1023 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Our doctor waits till week 20 or so, but when I had my first ultrasound at 13 weeks, the tech said most likely it's most likely a boy.

allison:chickenmouse - 1023 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Where I live you don't get gender ultrasounds, you get an ultrasound to make sure the baby is okay and growing well, and if you get lucky enough to see what he/she is they will tell you. I found out at 16 weeks that I was having a boy, at a normal ultrasound.

rosye13 - 1023 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Better than my doctor. He made me wait till 20. You can find out earlier, but the longer you wait, the more accurate the results are.

canadababy - 1023 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) People have had early gender ultrasounds (before 18 weeks) and had the correct gender told to them....but you always have a 50/50 chance of getting it right anyway! I had a hard time trusting my 21 week u/s, never mind before 18 weeks! Personally, I would rather wait a few weeks and be absolutely sure of what the gender is :)

jamiespaulding - 1023 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had mine at 20 weeks. It was best to wait till then so that you can get the best answer. The earlier you get your u/s its more likely they will only be able to tell you what they think instead of getting you a clear picture of what is there. Good Luck!

wisfarmgirl - 1023 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Even at 18-20 weeks they can only tell you with 90% accuracy.

L-Fitz - 1023 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had 2nd ultrasound at 18 weeks and they could see she is a girl- I dont know how! If theres a mistake, HE will be wearing a lot of pink!

kenty - 1023 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) i think the gender CAN be identified at about 16weeks but over in the uk they don't let us have a gender scan until 20weeks. i would wait until 18weeks like suggested as it is more likely the sonographer will be able to accurately tell

hessfamily - 1023 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) 20 weeks and on is your best bet...

klunkette - 1023 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had mine at almost 20 weeks. They say that between 18-20 weeks is the best time. My sister is going on Monday at 20 weeks to find out. If you go to early you may get a wrong answer. Some of the girls on here that were told around 15-16 weeks, were told something different at 20 weeks!

MrsStrickland74 - 1023 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Most Drs wait until you are around 20 weeks so that they can be 100% positive.

keiras mummy - 1023 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had mine at 20 weeks
