Is it possible to ovulate straight after a miscarriage? Added: 1021 days ago. Added by: NicoleRedders Section: General. Status: This question is Closed. (Questions will be closed after 10 days.)
I was 5 weeks preganant and miscarried on Sunday 26 April. I was due to ovulate today in my normal cylce pre pregnancy and miscarriage. It feels like I am ovulating, as I have the usual pain in my ovaries. Is it possible to ovulate straight after a miscarriage though? Surely you should count 14 days from the start of the bleeing? If you`ve had this before, please help! Thanks a mill

Oh, honey. I am so sorry. I also lost a little one. Sometimes God needs the perfect angels with Him. You may be having twinges as if you were ovulating, but I doubt you truly are. Make sure you give your heart enough time to heal. Mine still aches every now and then for that baby, even though I have a beautiful son now. That aching heart goes out to you right now. One last thing: if you had a D&C, I would give your doctor a call. She may want to do an internal just to make sure everything was removed. If you did not have a D&C, I would still call and tell her your symptoms to see if (s)he thinks these are normal...

I'm sorry for your loss - I went through the same thing at 5 weeks pregnant. Where you were pregnant, you won't have an egg ready to go for at least two weeks from when you started bleeding - once you are pregnant, any eggs that were sitting in your ovaries would not form the follicle needed to cause ovulation - the pregnancy hormone puts a stop to that. With the m/c, the pregnancy hormone will leave your system, and estrogen and LH will again take over to ripen an egg for ovulation (takes around two weeks). Some women do not ovulate at all in the cycle after a m/c (I didn't but I was back on track the cycle immediately following). Are you going to try to conceive again right away? If so, you might want to get some OPK's or track your temperature (BBT). If you are not into tracking, just try to have sex at least three times a week from the time you stop bleeding until your next period arrives, or you wind up with another BFP :) Best of luck to you.

I m/c the at 5 weeks as well. By doing a ovulation test i got a positive about 2 and a half weeks after the m/c bleeding started. So yes you can ovulate after a m/c however when will varry from when you would on your normal cycle. Hope this helps. I am very sorry for your loss.
