mathew102508 - 1011 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My son is 6 months old, and he drinks from a sippy cup most the time now. With formula of course. We use the Nuby one as they have a silcone spout so its easier for them, You can get them with or without handles. I HIGHLY recommand those ones! Good luck. If that fails they have a bottle thats suppose to help with this..Adiri Natural Nurser heres the link....http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=3124025&cp=2582952.2582960.2582960&parentPage=family

jaydsmom - 1011 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My son is 6 months old and he loves the sippy cup. We use the ones by Baby Einstein that have big handles for him to grab (probably any with big handles is good). It takes a bit to get them used to it, but my dr said its great to get them off the bottle. It's better for their teeth and easier to do at a younger age than as a toddler who doesn't want to give it up.

RobinG - 1012 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Six months may be to young for a sippy only ~ are you planning to BF too. If you arent going to BF any longer I'd keep trying to get him to take a bottle. Also have your SO try the bottle, if you are trying it he can smell your breast milk from you and that is why he is refusing cause it isnt hte breast he can feel and smell. My neighbor had hte same trouble so her hubby just kept trying and after a couple weeks she finally took the bottle. Put some breast milk on the nipple. Sippy's suction differntly and the shape is very different and he may not get the total oz he needs in a day versus a bottle. My older kids never drank as many oz from a sippy as a bottle. I'd keep trying a bottle and be sure the flow is the same as your breast. Stage 2-3 nipple. But to add my youngest son Hunter is mildly autistic and has oral dyspraxia. He has a hard time with sippys. I just found some at target that he can finally work with. I have a cabinet full of many kinds I've tried that he couldnt use.. It has lightening mcqueen on it and is made by learning curve. Here is a photo of it, they have various characters on them. http://www.learningcurve.com/product/detail/Y9560?locale=en_AU

megandgrace - 1012 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Are you going to be putting breast milk or formula in the sippy cup? It took a while for Grace to go to a sippy cup along with the breast but she did take a bottle well. The ones that i found were the best for her at around 10 months was Gerber brand. Also for us it was only water she would take in it so i still BF her and gave her breast milk in a bottle.
