I`m 39 weeks pregnant and tomorrow at 6 I am going in for a induction. I am going to be having a `cervidil` put in at 6pm...to help soften my cervix...the doctor said it`s like a tampon...well I was wondering if any of you ladies havehad this and if you have....does it hurt when they put it in?...

sarahann - 1007 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) My doctor tried to induce me using cervidil and tried twice with it (on two consecutive nights). It didn't hurt at all, but it didn't work for me either. On the third day they ended up giving me Pitocin via a drip which started contractions straight away. Best of luck!

Jenny309 - 1008 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) Hello, I had it too, after a day on the picosin... It did not hurt.. After I had it put in.. My baby came about 24 hours later. good luck tomorrow and congrats!

jaydsmom - 1008 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) It never hurt me either. It felt the same way as when they scape your cervix during a PAP to get the cervical cells. I had mine put in at 9:30 am. I was in active labour by 8pm, and had my son at 9:30am the next day :o)

momof2now4 - 1008 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) its like having an exam when they put it in but you dont even feel it afterwards its not bad at all

mathew102508 - 1008 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had this also, it doesnt hurt them putting it in, But i found it burned a little bit. Not enough to make it hurt but enough to notice it! I got it put in at 830pm and had my baby boy at 6:13am...so it works fast i think :D

megandgrace - 1008 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had mine put in in the morning around 9:30ish and it didn't hurt being put in. My doctor said it had to be in for 12 hours so by the time they went to take it out i was having semi-strong contractions and the doc who came to take it out couldn't find it at first and she hurt me bad trying to get it out but finally she got it out. But it never bothered me while it was in there, it is very small. Good luck!!!

AubreyP - 1008 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) I had cervidil put in the night before my induction. I don't remember it hurting and I don't think I could feel it once it was in either. It's supposed to soften your cervix. Best wishes to you. Congrats on meeting your baby tomorrow!!
