what does a mucous plug look like?

I think i`ve lost my mucous plug. i`m 38wks and yesterday and this morning when i went to the loo there was blood stained discharge.

It may be blood stained or brown and may come out all at once - about the size of a jello shot (sorry bad visual!) or it may come out in pieces over a few days. It means that labour may start but doesn't mean necessairly anytime soon. I lost mine the day before I gave birth, but have a friend who lost hers 3 weeks before delivering.

emma32uk - 1003 days ago Rating: 0 (0 votes) mine was very thick and slimmy, like snot (sorry) and was green/clear in clolour and there was quite alot of it. i know some peoples have blood streaked in it too.
